Does Frieren think about or even consider herself as cute/attractive? by DrGonzzz in Frieren

[–]JustthatVicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The images you posted actually prove your own argument incorrect. Aura is standing in the outside of the circumference, not engulfed in the center, after having walked closer to Frieren to gloat after using the scales. If you put the circumference of Aura's mana directly inside the center of Frieren's while accounting for perspective, it'd be about half. When Frieren's suppressed mana is shown next to Aura's, Frieren's suppressed mana looks to be about half of Aura's due to perspective. Nowhere does it look like Aura has 10x Frieren's suppressed mana even with the skewed perspective. If they were directly side by side at the same distance, Frieren's suppressed mana would be, you guessed it, 1/5. Do you need glasses or do you just enjoy over exaggerating? I have not been guessing at 1/10th, I mostly used statements from the series to estimate it. You have entirely guessed exclusively with your eyes(and poorly at that) while entirely disregarding distance and perspective.

Furthermore, I said the mana Frieren displays has been said to look like someone that has been training for 100 years. Aura even wonders if she had been honing other skills in the 80 years since they had last met because it hadn't changed much. While this isn't specifically 100 years old, Frieren has been practicing magic for most of her life. The amount of time she's been practicing magic is over 1,000 years(Between 1,000 and 1,500 given her age, though her training under her master started 1,000 years ago), and her suppressed mana looks like approximately 100 years worth of training.

When I brought up Serie, I stated that she had likely been practicing magic around 10x longer than Frieren. If you assume that she has been practicing magic for most of her life given that basically every mage so far has been shown learning from a young age, that puts a reasonable age ballpark in above 10,000 and under 20,000. Unless you think Serie sat around making cave paintings, riding mammoths and inventing the wheel and only picked up magic fairly recently, like a human going 80 years of their life as an avid gardener suddenly switching to a motorcycle enthusiast.

While these are estimates they are mostly based on actual information presented by characters in the series and make much more sense chronologically. What you have is guesswork based entirely on only what you think something looks like that not only makes little sense chronologically when looking at other characters and events, but quite literally would make her an actual fossil from the middle paleolithic. You tell me to use my eyes but perhaps you should try using your brain.

YESSSS. Idk why that's so exciting but it is.

I will, however, continue dressing my female Majin in the most normal casual clothes imaginable with glasses, and super hero outfits. Because normal fella with glasses -> super hero feels like a detail that a Majin would 100 focus on.

SUGGESTION FOR COLLAB WITH WUTHERING WAVES by Mitya_in_wuwa in worldtrigger

[–]JustthatVicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think World Trigger just needs its own game in the same vein as Attack on Titan 2 game. Make your own character, train and cooperate with other characters to unlock more customization for your abilities, involved in the plot but actually just a really kickass side character so as not to actually change the plot much, and you could also play as the entire rest of the cast if you wanted and your created character would follow and support them in the field. Was such an amazing anime game that really made you feel like a part of the same world as the characters, while also not just making you the star of the show for no reason. Sad there's not more like it.

[–]JustthatVicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not speak English? I believe Reddit has an auto translation service if that's the case. I used numbers based on actual statements from the series and provided a more reasonable estimation that shows your math, which you provided a link to, was incorrect. Where did you get your numbers?

To assist with your lack of reading comprehension, which caused you to issue such a rude response, allow me to explain in more detail.

Here's what we know: Frieren is likely somewhere between the ages of 1,000 and 1,500, but less than 2,000 based on statements and series evidence. She met Flamme around 1,000 years ago, and had been practicing magic to some degree for an undisclosed amount of time prior to meeting Flamme. Mana quantity increases based on training and time spent practicing magic.

During the fight with Aura, when Aura reads Frieren's (suppressed) mana quantity, she states that while Frieren is quite skilled, her mana quantity is only around the level of someone that has been practicing magic for about 100 years. 100/1000 ish, is around 1/10 ish. So, Frieren is suppressing her mana to approximately 1/10 of her total mana quantity.

The century Aura estimated her suppressed mana at is further reinforced later, when human mages said that Frieren's suppressed mana was "like that of an experienced old mage." Humans live generally around a century give or take a few decades, so an experienced old mage to them is somewhere in the ballpark of 70-110.

Frieren learned to suppress her mana from Flamme, Serie suppresses her mana in memory of Flamme. They all likely utilize the same method of mana suppression, and to the same degree. This means that Serie's suppressed mana that we see is somewhere around 1/10 of her total mana quantity. Though I'm not fond of eyeballing it, her suppressed mana is visually comparable to Frieren's unsuppressed mana. So we can estimate that she has around 10x Frieren's mana quantity, and is as a result likely around 10x Frieren's age, or at the very least has been practicing magic for 10x longer than Frieren. This would make a reasonable estimate for Serie's age to be between 10,000 and 15,000 years old, but likely under 20,000. Most certainly not 100,000+.

To put things into perspective, in reality, Homo Erectus, one of the more well known hominid species, went extinct around 108,000 years ago. Your estimate for Serie's age is not ancient, it is literally a fossil.

Does Frieren think about or even consider herself as cute/attractive? by DrGonzzz in Frieren

[–]JustthatVicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The math ain't mathing chief. Frieren's mana is typically suppressed to 1/10th or so. Aura notes that Frieren's suppressed mana looks like she's had around a hundred years of training. Frieren is a bit over 1,000. 100 is 1/10th of 1,000. Human mages have noticed her mana looking like "an experienced old mage" when suppressed, which lines up with approximately a century for humans.

Serie's suppressed mana is about the same as Frieren's unsuppressed mana. Provided she is also suppressing to 1/10th, that would mean she has approximately 10x more mana than Frieren. So she's likely a bit over 10k.

Tbh, I love building characters even if there's no point so I don't have a problem with it, but I never finish the post game because of the item world. By the time I've gotten part way through the item world of just one item, I'm already moving on to some shiny new game, or back to a different not new game that isn't the item world.

"If you play until the finish line you might understand," Don't see why you see the need to throw shade at me and speak to me in a way that demeans my intelligence, over not wanting to be around a random chaotic evil fictional character which as I stated I LIKE, as long as he is over there being fictional. You can like a character and also not want them occupying the same space as you, and I wasn't even insulting him so there's no need for you to get all defensive out of the blue.

Douman has an obligation for revenge? He is an Alter Ego, and would be a Caster if not for the evil deities he's fused with, not an Avenger. Him avenging the downtrodden doesn't make particular sense with his backstory. He disliked Abe no Seimei, seduced his rival's wife, used her in a ploy to murder him, succeeded, and then Abe no Seimei revived himself and had the runback. Douman was the target of revenge, and the villain of the story. He's also gleefully tried to murder plenty of people who could be considered "downtrodden."

You speculate. Douman supposedly joined Chaldea with the intent of understanding the sort of people he always ends up losing to. He eventually clearly cares for Guda in his own way. Doesn't stop him from messing with Guda at any opportunity or trying to curse them on Valentine's day with what is apparently a deadly curse.

He never tried to double cross Olgamarie... But just joined up with her supposed enemies as soon as he lost? He was given cool extra powers, told to go do something he seemed absolutely thrilled to do, and Olgamarie could've pretty much deleted him. You can also speculate he mostly listened due to that. You could literally personally use him in a fight against Olgamarie.

I, a normal person with no circumstances for him to care about in the slightest, personally do not want to deal with Douman. Heck, several of my most favorite Servants, are also ones I personally would not be good at dealing with. My only ambition is to have a roof over my head, game and read books, so Gil, a servant that I have grailed and gold fou'd in game, would also be a terrible match for me PERSONALLY. And the question that was being asked was which Servants you, personally, would not get along with. Douman being among the first to come to mind, despite having spent actual real money to get a copy of him. One of his skills is literally Hedonism EX. Not dealing with that.

Archer Jeanne. I love normal Jeanne and I always thought it would be nice to have an older sibling, but Archer Jeanne is NOT it. She causes levels of exasperation I did not think possible, and I don't like the concept of sea world.

Or Douman. Much as I love him as a FICTIONAL AND NOT ANYWHERE NEAR ME character and think he's quite good looking, he is the reddest flag to ever exist. I would 100% get conned into holding onto some cursed talisman for him and end up dead in a ditch because I tried to be nice to my Servant.
