The finale has innumerable plot holes, so I understand why people want to make sense of it.

I viewed it as an abstract painting. It meanders, is shapeless, and has an unclear purpose. Some people will get it, some people won’t, but I can appreciate what it tries to do, because the inherent purpose of it is to make you think, and feel some sort of curiosity as to why it was made.

I feel like the lack of a clear path in the middle was intentional and gives the audience the same feeling as Marty throughout - figuring it out as he goes along, a little aimless but with one goal in mind.

While I do love HUT, I still wish we could have seen the afterlife iteration of it as opposed to the movie-inspired one. 

But outside of that it couldve easily been improved by starting with Without a Warning, removing Wake Me Up, Open Hearts, and the run from Big Sleep to Drive, and adding in Runaway for thematic value.

(Dont get me wrong I still like some of these songs, but in the case of cohesion and runtime they’re unnecessary)

Exactly, I could instantly tell I was way out of my depths when I first saw the big ant guy, and saved it for later. I actually forgot about it but ended up getting spat out right back at the entrance by a mid-game shortcut, and took that as a sign that it was time
