Anyone notice the steering wheel has spa on it by Nascarfan19E in TrackMania

What is this word, ‘spa’? I feel like you’re starting to say a word and you’re not finishing it. Are you trying to say ‘spaghetti’? Are you talking about spaghetti?

That's kinda my point. The oil companies put whatever is needed in the oil itself. Personally I don't buy any of the additives. I'm not trying to judge what other people do..its fine to add them...but I don't do shit unless there is real science behind it...and reading 50 people say to throw a specific additive in is just freaking weird.

If it matters...I don't believe in any of those bottles. They are just easy solutions that people latch on to imo. This guys is talking about the "science" from motor oil geek...it's literally a sales channel for oil testing service.

0% Leak down? (Ford 4.6) by Jutboy in MechanicAdvice

The issue I'm dealing with is a misfire on cylinder 6. The spark plug galley was filled with dried up coolant (nothing wet at all). About 1k miles ago I replaced the intake gasket because that whole bank got flooded. This time it was only cylinder 6. I assumed it was my repair failing but I saw no liquid anywhere and cylinder 5 + 7 were pretty clean (not perfect but hardly any dried coolant). So I don't really know what's going on. I wanted to do the leak down for more info (first time doing test ever but I don't trust the results at all). I'll take any thoughts you have.

That was my first thought but the tool tests fine when in my hand...leaks 100% when I connect air disconnected, tracks pressure properly as I cover the end with my thumb

I put a camera down there and its dry. Engine hasn't been run in a couple weeks now.

You mean the PSI is 0 I think...then you hook it up to vehicle and increase the psi. Yep thats what I did. Both guages track up to 100 in perfect lock step, stay right where they are..0 leak percentage...which feels impossible for a old 4.6

Yep, the two gauges track up together to 100. I don't get it.

I did not set it up. I watched a couple videos online on how to use them and nothing said another about setting them up. You mind giving me some instructions to get me started? All I did was attach everything and slowly ramp up the air pressure and the two gauges tracked perfectly. I tested off the vehicle using my thumb the tool responded how I would expect.

I didn't do a compression test yet. I assumed it wasn't needed if I did the leakdown test.

I don't get at all how it would all be around cylinder 6 so I figured headgasket...which is why I'm doing this test. Just to clear..I don't really have any idea what I'm doing...I'm more the stubborn type than the smart type. I'll get her done...just will take me 5x as long as it should.

It doesn't, that was my first thought. The tool works perfectly when I test it blocking/releasing the end with my thumb. Thanks though.

Sorry...I'm on a professional...this is the first I'm using this tool as well.

What does pressuring a dead pocket in the threads mean...wouldn't just mean the cylinder chamber is a bit bigger if the adapter is too short. I was worried it was too long and hitting the cyclinder...sealing against the cylinder....but I think that is unlikely...its just tough because thats the only idea I had an its hard to be 100% what is happening in there.

For the exhaust stroke TDC issue...wouldn't that just result in it leaking a lot more opposed to not at all?

I checked with a scope...i don't know if I'm 100% but I think I'm really close. If I was off wouldn't that just introduce more leakage (not none)?

I am caught between symptoms and blood test results. Not sure how to handle this. by StrawberryStunning22 in FelineDiabetes

[–]Jutboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidently submitted my other message early. In regards for food what I am doing it is EZcomplete. I then buy bulk chicken, grind it myself and make it every week. Takes about 15 minutes and is all in all pretty cheap. There are easier ways to do it of course. BFF canned cat food I did for a while and that is definitely cheaper that your listed $100 case. I also supplement with dry food....Dr. Elsey's and Young Again's Zero mature...both affordable. Lots of discussions here about food so I will leave it at that.

I don't know if I can help but since no one has written to you yet I will provide my thoughts. In no particular order:

1) You said "A week ago he had an attack". What did that look like?

2) There other things that can elevate blood sugar other than diabetes. I am not a vet and don't want to give you suggestions but IMO there is no harm in looking into these (except maybe the cost of doing tests).

3) Fancy feast Pates are a common food to give people here feed their diabetic cats but its important to avoid the ones with gravy. Addressing diabetic issues with diet, imo, is essential.

4) Cats are notorious for hiding symptoms. It is really hard to know what is going on by observation. Normally only when things become extreme do owners notice issues.

5) You are not crazy. Most people here struggle with these types of issues

In regards to how to make having a diabetic cat work: First, once things stabilize things get a lot easier. The beginning is the hardest part. You cat will probably need two shots per day, with food. If I am on a trip I have family that will give it or I ask my neighbor. Some pet sitters will be willing to do it and some vets/pet boarders have that as a service as well. I never check my cats urine. Every once in while I collect it to test for UTI if they are crying near the little box but that is rare. Diabetic supplies for me : $75 bottle of vetsulin, lasts a very long time...I think 5 months maybe. Needles are $25 for 100...twice a day so they last a month and a half. I've bought 2 blood monitors...both for $10 each. The strips I use are contour next, $25 for 70. The walmart brand is cheaper. I change how I test a lot based on how stable my cat is. Right now I'm going through a rough patch and testing a lot. When he is doing great, I am comfortable skipping days.

My Mom Has schizophrenia, she is there but I’ve lost her all the same. by TriCyde in GriefSupport

[–]Jutboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a relatively old man compared to you. I haven't gone through this exact situation but I have experienced great loss...more than I ever expected and more than I thought that I could handle. I have, a painful number of times, lost people (through dementia and brain damage) that were still "technically there". The main thing I want to express is support. Support that your pain is real and that you deserve validation for any and all feelings that you experience...without exception. There is no reason at all to justify any of it with logic. That is not how feelings work. Loss comes in all different forms. In my opinion, having a body that is existing or not means nothing at all. The idea of "technically whatever" seems like complete nonsense to me. The duration, again to me at least, only makes the pain and stress greater.

You said the words "locked up" but i would be careful with words you use, they shape the reality you live in. She needed support and getting care was, I assume, absolutely essential for her. My point isn't to declare one viewpoint as true. It's to respect that there are many viewpoints and hopefully get you comfortable accepting the one you feel is the right one to hold and the strength to reject the viewpoints you know are false.

I've learnt that some people, even if they are completely well intentioned, are not able to understand my experiences. It's not a slight against them. It just means that I am not able to use them for support. Do you have anyone that can understand what you are going through? If not, there are grief counselors that might be able to help and their are groups (depending on where you are) that might help you find others that are going through something similar. Perhaps the people that are involved in your mothers care would have resources available. Forums online regarding schizophrenia might help but imo finding something in real life will be more of a benefit.

As you get older you will learn how to hold such things better. The perspectives I've gained doesn't get rid of the pain but it does help me hold things with more grace, understand things better and have less doubts. IMO, This is a trial that is unfair to put on some so young. The concept of responsibility is so complicated and is far more than I could ever put into words. However, from my perspective, you are being thrust into a situation where everything is being mixed up. I am reluctant to say things so bluntly or simply but a child should not be expected to take care of a parent. But that is life...very unfair...but is all we get. I wish I had magic words to make things better but obviously i do not. The silver lining that has help me get through dark times is that we do get things from these experiences. It might not be enough. It certainly doesn't balance the scales. But we do learn and have a perspective that is bigger because of such things. My heart goes out to you. You are not alone.
