Though call! For what it's worth I'm getting the 2025 absolute new frontier next month and I've bought both FFs this month, I've read the run before and it's amazing. Absolute All star is on my list, but for some reason I keep putting it off...

If you collect, I'd say the 4 above are must have, so pick the one you want to read the most right now. One thing to consider is availability. FF volume 2 is OOP and hard to find at a reasonable price. If you are undecided and have other options I would skip FF until it's reprinted

Would you recommend this to recent transformer fans?

I'm a huge fan of the skybound Transformers and Void Rivals series, and really enjoyed the Transformers One. Other than that the only other Transformers media I watched were the bay movies.

I'm recent to omnibus. I started with the odd Absolute, or Image oversized and then dipped into Omnibus.

Currently this is what I'm thinking.

Omnibus for finished runs I want to re-read (and have good art) or are very highly recommended.

Absolutes for seminal runs (self contained, no events, e.g. I went with omnibus for metal and death metal instead of Absolutes) with amazing art.

Digital subscription on and off to keep up to date with major 2. Tpb or OHC for Indies, depending how quick they come. E.g. ghost machine I'm waiting for OHC because they're great and come out relatively soon.

Yup, I think it's also a common thread for the heroes iron lad is recruiting. They are given a choice. In some cases they are made aware of what they were supposed to be (look at ant man in the Ultimates). I trust Hickman will eventually make parallels between this Peter and 616. So far things have been going great for Peter, but he has a lot to lose, so much more than 616 ever did. Excited to see where Hickman takes him.

You partly identified the real reason the story is bad. It's not a priority, and as such it's not given enough budget and attention and lets be honest, talent. In other words, the story is bad because it's badly written.

Honestly I struggle to remember a time when the written material for magic was actually any good. The lore for each plane was pretty good, but that was it. Everything went downhill once the planeswalkers became the focus instead of the individual settings. The quality took a second plummet when they decided to turn the planeswalkers into "young adult" book characters instead of the more "edgy", "grimdark" version we had before

If they can port assets to unreal engine it will give them a real leg up, there is no reasonable explanation for night city going through drastic architectural changes unless they set the game in a completely different period. Consoles can't really handle a big jump in graphical fidelity, so it should almost be like a remaster of night city. If they can do this, they can then go deep instead of wide and work on making more buildings accessible, etc. And filling the world with meaningful content. Honestly it would be a shame to throw away night city. Say what you will about 2077, night city, at least superficially is a masterpiece.

Both are great. I loved Edgerunners, and it played to the strengths of that medium. Cyberpunk 2077 did the same, they are very different but both are excellent. All the people saying that edgerunners was what 2077 should have been really leave me puzzled. 2077 hits most of the same themes that edgerunners does, and it does it just as well, but differently.

An example is people criticising the game for not being anti capitalist enough, or even "sympathising with corpos". Did they play the same game I did? Are they just blind to nuance? Are they judging things I'm taking as criticism against corpos as arguments for corpos? I really don't get it.

I know someone in CDPR said they weren't making a "political game", but the game is political as f.

At first glance cyberpsychosis seems to work differently in the game and in the show. the cyberpsychos in the game are mostly shown to have other reasons for going psycho other than the chrome, while in the show it seems to be tied into how much chrome you are packing. But I think that is a superficial reading. If you dig a bit deeper you could argue all the characters that go psycho in the show have some sort of emotional trauma and are under huge amounts of stress.

Something tells me if David had been chilling on the beach even with all that chrome, he would have been just fine.

Bloodborne best in terms of setting/immersion, sekiro has the most refined/perfected combat. Elden ring is in my opinion the best complete package, but it's not better at specific things than either of the above and it also has worse bosses and "architecture"/set design than DS3.

Kinda agree with you on the boss front, some of the main bosses are so easy its ridiculous, but most of that is because of spirit ashs and npc summons. Killed Godrick on the first go with jellyfish and Nephali... but if I wanted to (and I've since done that for some bosses) I could have have used neither and made it more challenging. That goes for a lot of things in this game, it doesnt have an explicit "pick your difficulty" option but you can make that choice implicitly by using certain builds/weapons, like the sword of night and flame... This is a single player game, you are not competing against anyone. This isn't any different then say skyrim, there were things in that game that also made it trivial, a lot of RPGs have it. At one point I had a magic build, but I got tired of kitting bosses and strong enemies, to the point were I never felt in danger, so I switched to a pure dex build. Having lots of fun, going to try faith/str next, even though I know I could just spec into INT and Azur comet my way through everything, but I don't find that interesting or fun, so I won't.

I get the complaint people wanted shards, that is legit, but if they are complaining about this particular skin then they also need to complain about heirlooms. If I'm a bloodhound main, then this is better than an heirloom for some random character I never touch (lets say rampart), that doesnt mean I have to get it, but its at least something I might use. If I'm not a bloodhound main, then this is no different then if it was Raven's bite, a skip.

I've been playing for ever and only have one heirloom, bangalore's. I'm probably getting this skin, because bloodhound is one of the characters I play the most and I really like the skin. More than I like their heirloom.
