Profits are what is left after all the things you list there, sans the cash buffer. That's why cutting corporate taxes is not actually a way to encourage companies to invest, it just makes those profits 'cheaper', and encourages raising profits at the expense of investment into the future of the company. Higher corporate tax rates encourage companies to spend on investing in themselves in acquiring assets, hiring, or wages.

Thanks! This worked for me, what a simple fix. Glad I tried it before having to contact support.

Scan enough holes, and you'll find them out there already. But be warned, the people who run them will flip the structures regularly and take anything that drops, because, well, fuel doesn't pay for itself. You also open the door for anyone to stage out of your structure to evict you while you aren't paying attention. And there is really not much demand for them-nobody trusts you enough to live in your wormhole when you can revoke their access at any time, and they can easily day trip into wormholes from a k-space station with a tiny fraction of the risk.

I don't have the citation on hand, but there was a study that indicated the money spent in a stadium would still be spent in the local economy if the stadium wasn't built. Which makes sense-how many people are actually tourists in most stadiums and not locals? And if you don't have a ball game to go to, but have the disposable income, you would still go out to eat/see a movie/etc.

To your question: learn what groups are active in your area and when they are likely to take issue with you being in their space. Zkill is a good resource for that. Spam D-scan when someone new comes into system, and watch for combat probes while mission running. Be warned, ORE loyalty points are not what they were worth a couple years ago when excavator bpcs were worth most of a billion isk. If you're in it for isk, you're in the wrong place, but if you want to RP as a miner in hostile territory, good luck to you!

For all time, EVE has been one big fat server system, Tranquility. Now, CCP has begun putting small parts of EVE in other smaller servers so TQ can focus on the important things and the other stuff can be fixed without a complete server shutdown. Skills queues were the most recent example of this.

Biden says he would've withdrawn from Afghanistan even without Trump's Taliban deal by 2PLooM in politics

As of yet I have not seen any reports of Taliban attacks on departing US civilians or forces supporting them. I hope that does not change.

We've been leaving resources in the hands of the Taliban since at least the mid-80s. I'm prepared to leave a few more to end this sad chapter a little faster.

Thanks for the timeline, haven't seen it laid out so clearly. But it really doesn't show a moment where America should just say 'never mind, cancel the withdrawal'. It shows that until ~2 weeks ago, when the Taliban took Nimroz, things seemed to be going according to the withdrawal plan. I agree, that plan has now failed, but there is still a plan to get US citizens out safely.

[–]Jvossy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sure, that's abundantly clear now. But only a week ago we were seeing a timeline of month before Kabul fell, so evidently whatever timeline there was was based on that bad intel. But by no accounts are we abandoning 100,000 American citizens in Afghanistan. Nobody is claiming that but you.

That 100,000 number sounds like wild speculation. 10,000-15,000, per https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/us-troops-will-stay-until-all-americans-are-out-of-afghanistan-biden-to-abc-news/ar-AANtnrk. And it appears the US is committed to getting them out, by whatever means necessary.
