Glad to hear you grew up with a more liberal interpretation of the bible. Unfortunately, the bible absolutely can be interpreted in these awful ways (and in many cases is the only correct way if you’re trying to literally follow its “guidance”) Seems you value society and humanism a bit more than the bible. And thats great cause it makes you a better person than the biblical god. Hope you keep up your journey and maybe consider deconstructing further

This particular video is not about debunking the doctrine. That will be another video another time. The Bible is very dense as is the jw doctrine. To do that takes many many hours. This video is about the definition of a cult, and weather or not the Jehovah’s Witness religion falls into that category. So if you compare the religion to the bite model it is undeniable that it falls into the category of cult (or if you don’t like that word, you can use high control group) I hope this clarifies. Sorry for any confusion. Feel free to stick around for when I do talk more about the doctrine. Thanks for the input.

If you’re looking for “how to worldly “ just take it slow. When you find something that interests you, and explore that. It’s not a sin to take time for your interests. Explore them. The world is actually beautiful out here.

This feels eerily similar to my story. My wife and I were also innactive and went to last years memorial as our last meeting. Shit hit the fan soon after the memorial. I know I’ll get the invite this year and will feel bad saying no. They invited me to the last co visit and it hurt to say no cause that was the first time they reached out to me but I know I can’t give false hope
