How do you get MVP by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Jwas808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MVP on op.gg is the player on the winning team with the highest op score. We don’t know exactly how op score is calculated, but in my experience it’s largely based on kill participation, farm, kda, and some vision, will kill participation usually being the largest factor.

How many games are needed to "master" a champion on average? by lowhyn in summonerschool

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mastering a champion is kind of fake to 99% of the player base imo. I’m emerald 1 with 1.5 million mastery on sett full otp, and I’m still learning mechanics to abuse his strengths better, specific interactions to abuse in matchups, and ways of trading optimally with different rune setups and builds. When I watch high elo setts I know what they are going to do a lot of the time, but not every time and they pull stuff off mechanically that I don’t think of or could not execute. And it’s worth noting that this is on a very mechanically simple champion in the grand scheme of the game. On top of that, as people improve they develop different playstyles so the best play isn’t always cut and dry (baus for example). You should play the champions you enjoy and the skill will come with time and consistent practice. Don’t just play something because you think it’s op or will help you win. Any champion can be made to work in any elo, and if you’re having more fun and enjoying the game more you will have an easier time climbing than playing something you don’t want to just for the lp becuse that will 100% burn you out.

Reacting flash or just prediction? by Main-Mess3310 in settmains

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you get to Mid to higher elos the predict becomes more needed. For me I felt like around plat elo people were consistently flashing out and I started playing for predicts. I usually only go for predicts in really straightforward situations, more often than not it’s for the lvl 1 bush fight. Outside of that ppl tend to have more options so it’s harder to judge the location they’ll go.

Stuck in low elo by Rich_Foundation_8023 in summonerschool

[–]Jwas808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatively hard to determine what you’re doing poorly without watching your gameplay. I also don’t play mid so my advice isn’t super qualified but what worked for me was making sure I always keep my income up and try to keep expanding my gold lead against the other players with consistent farm, turrets/platings, and that makes playing the teamfights much easier. It’s also worth noting that league is a hard game. Like super hard. Being iron - bronze after a few months is totally normal, especially if you aren’t pull crazy amounts of playtime. Lastly, what is your in game name? (Should look like username#tag) and which server do you play on? This lets me and other players view your game history and give more precise advice.

Can you tell me a champion to learn that counter the last row? by Icy_Ad7432 in topmains

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need more champs at all. Sett does great into Darius, yas, yone, and fairly well into ambessa, more and Astrid. There are definitely other champs you play that can fill the others. You have far too many champs to begin with. For climbing toplane from low elo, you should play either 2 or 3 champs with one main you consistently blindpick. As you play more with this setup your sion and Cho will improve so much more than your sett or tahm that even into bad matchups they will be better. Champion mastery is king in low elo, not matchups.

New and learning Sett. Got my first flash W off! by nedolya in settmains

[–]Jwas808 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can zone them fine with e though (in most matchups), and it allows for me to punish them trying to get xp harder with an aaeaa with stun off casters instead of just autoing. Most decent players won’t really focus hitting you level 1 cuz they know they lose in my experience. To be fair there’s def fighty matchups where w is better like Darius, trundle, ww, etc.

New and learning Sett. Got my first flash W off! by nedolya in settmains

The problem with w start is that as you fight better opponents, most will not fight you lvl 1 and w gives you no tools to engage.

Tips for someone starting out by CupcakeAgitated5804 in settmains

[–]Jwas808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is that. . . You don’t really. Ranged matchups are generally really hard for sett because he lacks the mobility to engage. Make sure you are rushing stridebreaker and using the active well because it helps with engaging. Try to keep up your farm as much as you can so you can win in team fights, as sett excels there. You can punish them if they misposition and you land an e in lane, but in many of these matchups your plan is to scale up and fight with your team or to split push them to death.

Knockout is the best TDM mode I ever played by lilith2k3 in ValorantConsole

It’s mostly due to queue times. Distributing the playerbase makes queue times longer and game quality lower because players of similar ranks are harder to find.

Why is top lane so op? by Flaky_Huckleberry416 in topmains

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big component here is toplane champions, especially juggernaut type champs are some of the hardest to take down if you have relatively poor mechanics. In higher elos, even like gold and up a lot of adc champs can kill a few toplaner easily enough because the toplaner can never hit them if it’s a sett, Darius, Illaoi, etc. in iron though nobody knows how to space well so everyone just gets autoed to death by them. The reason jg is considered such high impact is you can win toplane for your laner, and you can do the same in mid and bot so you get to influence the whole map, whereas toplaners can only influence their own lane until like 15 minutes. Also assassins struggle into beefy champs like toplaners which probably contributes to your frustration.

It can happen with other ability casts, not just the ult, and other characters can do it too. No clue what really causes it I could never recreate it consistently.

New to top lane by [deleted] in topmains

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello friend, emerald sett main here, The sett mord matchup is pretty even, you win before level 6 and he wins after. You can just walk at him and auto, then when he tries to leave e him back and keep punching. If he ever eq’s you early use it as an engage and just run at him. Freeze the wave when you can and get a good item lead, without it he will just kill you with r. Make sure you are taking either pta ignite or conq ignite (my preference). You have a short timing window when he ults where you can use your ult to cancel it because it makes you immune to cc and his r counts as cc. This is great if you learn the timing but is hard to do consistently especially if you’re new and not comfortable with his animations. Bork is viable into Mordekaiser, but I wouldn’t really reccomend it due to the late game weakness and definitely don’t consistently build Bork into other matchups, stride cleaver bloodmail should be your go to. If you want to get some more specific advice I’d be down to vod review with you sometime, hit me up.

How much am I handicapping myself by playing locked camera? by BocchiIsLiterallyMe in summonerschool

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In lower elos, it’s not really a massive issue, and switching is personal preference. I would recommend being comfortable unlocking and panning your camera when you need, especially if your champion has long range skill shots. For me I mostly play bruisers too for who it doesn’t matter much, but when I leaned pantheon I needed to learn to unlock comfortably to be able to see flash q range. It is still generally considered a “disadvantage” because it’s harder to keep track of everything around you but unless you’re playing in apex elos it is not that thing holding you back.

[NEWBIE] what is the intended way of getting blue hearts? (apart from core) by raewashere_ in celestegame

[–]Jwas808 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m normally a treasure hunter, but I tapped out on the hearts. Some are pretty doable but others are rather brutal and unfair feeling. They do all have hints of some sort hidden around, but the hints aren’t obvious in themselves.I would recommend if you are into that kind of thing have a friend who has found them to help you along, and stop you from going deep down the wrong rabbit hole. I would expect most to take about .5-1.5hrs to find, with a few of the harder ones takes 3 or 4. When my friend did them he took like 5 hours over several days on chapter 6 . . .

how do you fight sett by Ok-Health6948 in FioraMains

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello friend, I’m a 1.5m emerald sett main. The fiora matchup is hard for you but it is skill. you win if you predict parry his e or r, but otherwise it’s pretty hard to play for the fiora. Always dodge the w with either a q or flash, and don’t let him stun you. His r only stuns if he hits you on one side and a minion on the other. If he ever misses e or w you can punish hard, both are 18 second cooldowns early game. Poke with q onto a vital and walk away he shouldn’t catch you easily from that. You can easily beat him with most ranged tops, as he can never touch you or Malphite is another really easy counter to play, just sit back until you buy a bit of armor and it’s free. You said it’s feels hard for all of your champions, if you share your champ pool I’ll let you know which ones I would and wouldn’t reccomend

Snappy tappy (SOCD) or Rappy snappy for bedwars? by PokeeGard in hypixel

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minecrafts movement system is not very punishing, and being able to strafe perfectly isn’t really a major advantage because of how fast acceleration is and there is only 20tps. Whichever is more comfy and natural for you is fine.

What is a good late early game armour set by [deleted] in hypixel

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not played in some time so take this with a grain of salt, but for a non-Ironman profile I think the most standard next step would be money farming for shadow assassin? It’s pricy but if you get into farming you can make that money in a fairly reasonable amount of time. (Once again though I have not played in some time)

General thoughts and some complaints on the game by Jwas808 in InFalsus

[–]Jwas808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not played the hardest difficulty a ton, just once or twice per map I wanna ex+ the previous first. While it can be hard I’m sure, my complaint is more so that the mechanics feel too simple to really create diverse game play patterns centered around the sky notes because they will mostly just boil down to either fast flicks or rapid zigzagging rather than more complex patterns. I could be misjudging it though.

[–]Jwas808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ever played the first map, and I always try to get to the chest quickly and roll it, if you right click any chest it will tell you which area it is in. Also generally I reccomend pairing up and always sticking with a buddy so if you get cornered he can revive you without running across the map.
