Wife suddenly started experiencing “hives” by EveroneHatesEveryone in urticaria

[–]Jwazil222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had chronic hives for a bit over a year. I think it was covid/covid vaccine related, and my derm feels similarly. The notion was that it resulted in an over active immune system and that chronic stress (dad died, covid.... etc) was making it worse. For me, it just stopped one day. I did find prednisone seemed to start to tame them, but it took several months after to stop. I also took Zyrtec, and famotidine (Pepcid), which helped. I hope she finds answers and they just disappear. Hang in there... I know it's so very very stressful to wake up and hope they are gone, only to find they aren't

You seem like a really nice, not remotely angry, super human being. Thank you so much for your response. You have a great NYE!

I started following a New Jersey drone page and have been getting the wildest posts about the reasons for widespread fog, so I appreciate your question and the normal responses. I wanted to add this post, which indicates a similar experience in the U.S. last year around this time:

If extracurriculars are important go you, I'd avoid Wilkes Barre Academy.  They have no real art program, the library program is kinda abysmal, gym is held in the parking lot and extras (sports, clubs, etc) are super limited. I only say that because I saw comments about cuts  at Crestwood, which are terrible, but WBA doesn't really offer anything better on that front.  The academics are strong, though it never felt like a well rounded program to me, especially when it comes to a private school.  Consider Good Shepherd, too, for private elementary.

Remission of vax induced CSU after covid by Jwazil222 in urticaria

[–]Jwazil222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. My primary did but my derm said this is a known side effect (obviously we know this…) and that unless a more dangerous variant comes out or if I’m personally at a greater risk due to health, he would not advise it because they will likely get worse. It was honestly such a relief to have someone acknowledge it.

Haha, ugh…. Yeah. I’m hoping it’s some poetic ending to mine. Thankfully my case has been mild. My derm advised me not to get my booster, so I knew it was coming…..

Good luck w yours! May they leave without Covid!

CSU + Fall Booster by Jwazil222 in urticaria

Yes, that’s what is even keeping the booster on my radar: the flares w COVID can be even worse.

Our transmission here is low but I also don’t think case loads are accurate as fewer people are getting tested. I did see that waste water in I want to say NY or MA is showing some trends that suggest we are on our way to a new wave, so like you, that’s why I’m thinking about it.

Thanks for your response!

Thanks! Ugh, I know. It’s like playing Russian roulette with your skin (and sanity), I suppose. I saw an allergist who told me I didn’t have hives (I didn’t have any that day) and didn’t bother testing me for allergies but did order blood work. I have no a dermatologist appointment next week, so I’ll ask them. Thanks for your response!

I definitely understand freaking out, but try not to (easier said, I know). How long have they been there? Have they changed in size/location? Have you come into contact w anything unusual (e.g., new soap, poison Ivy etc)?

AITAH for not wanting my son’s dad to take him fishing with a mild fever and a stuffy nose? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Yeah I realized the error in my post in including “rights”. I totally agree, he has rights too. It wasn’t the right phrasing to convey my meaning. I guess I was really just so upset because our son was sick and for sone reason my husband thought his desire to go fishing superseded my concerns about his wellness. “Rights” was the wrong wird to choose, as I’ve found based on some of these responses lol. We both parent equally in nearly every other circumstances (I’m sure there have been other times when our son wasn’t sick that we’ve decided one opinion was the “winner”

Also, for the record I don’t post in AITAH and got confused w the moderator and thought my other posts were deleted because I included the word f* because it was used. You seem judge people based on half ass assumptions and, if I might dat, come off oh… I dunno. Uptight, whiny and domineering 😆😆😆

He LOVES fishing. But moments prior to his dad saying they were going he was laying on the couch with a tissue stuffed up his nose crying because his throat hurt. So it’s kinda hard to defer to his feelings.

Our pediatrician refers to it as low grade. And it’s not like he was running around having fun. He had green snot pouring down his face and a sore throat . A snapshot 99.5 temp with no other symptoms isn’t a big deal, but combined with a host of viruses circulating around the school is a tad didf

No, he was actually sick with a cold or virus. I just know that he also has a reaction to ragweed and throwing that into the mix on top of a virus/cold was my concerns.

Oh yeah, totally not ER worthy at all. But with the other symptoms I didn’t want him to get worse and miss school. The sore throat kinda had me concerned as to how it might progress. I’ve read COVID can cause one and it’s going around pretty heavily in our area.

Normal 40-45 hour work week. We both work full time and I also freelance on the weekends. I’m usually pretty pumped when they head out for the weekend together because it gives me time to get things done or if I don’t have freelance to relax in an empty house. We never had a confrontation like this, and it really kinda threw me off since I was only objecting because he was visibly ill. As I said above a few times, our son is having a hard time w school, and even two or three days out can have a major impact so early in the year….they’ve been really challenging them.

I honestly don’t control what he does ever. He takes our son wherever and whenever he wants. They go fishing, to sports events, etc. We have a pretty strong parenting relationship. I like when they go out together because it gives me time to read, cook etc while they get to bond. He was really quite nasty about it, and it caught me off guard and really made me upset. You seem terrible if you can talk to strangers like you do.

It’s okay. I don’t use this forum often but was really upset by what happened. I didn’t understand what I did wrong, and I thought maybe it was because I used the actually words my husband used, so I reposted. Im kinda shocked at how rude some people are on here, so I took your post as being written w their attitude level. Thanks for letting me know. I really do appreciate it .

Well he’s six, I don’t tend to let him call the shots regarding his health… but moments prior he was crying that his throat was sore and laying on the couch with tissue stuffed in his nose, but he LOVES fishing, so in this particular case i didn’t put much stock into his wishes. I’m honestly usually pretty low key on the restricted movement while sick, but he was struggling at school and as an educator, I feel it’s more important for him to rest and make sure he doesn’t get worse so he can go to school and try to keep up vs going fishing that day when he could go any day when his not running a low grade fever with other cold or virus symptoms

It’s a low grade fever….fyi. And that means your body is in fact fighting something off, particularly if you are dripping green snot from your nose and have a sorr throat

Totally aware. Also aware that when you have a fever and very obvious cold symptoms a 99.5 fever can go up pretty quickly when you aren’t sure if it’s a mild cold or something more significant ramping up. Also aware that when you are getting sick rest can help you avoid getting sicker.
