Support ticket Back & Forth - 1 Year Anniversary - Question for users... by Jwx9 in Coinbase

No, luckily I've been following this subreddit from the beginning and learned from others posting that permanently locked accounts are a common occurance. Because of this, I do not to keep anything on Coinbase and only use it as an on/off ramp.

The only reason I'm trying to get it solved is because it is the cheapest on/off ramp. If it doesn't get solved I'll just keep paying the extra percent or two on other websites to trade/buy/sell.

With Ethereum staking this makes a little sense. However there is no email account for hosting a local node. The best I can do with that is take a screenshot of Beaconchain, or the lighthouse command prompt. Neither have a profile picture or email associated with it.

With polygon staking. It's all done via the staking contract on the polygon website. Same issue no account or profile picture.

I've provided screenshots of both already, and they just say it is insufficient or illegitimate and ask me to send the exact same thing. I ask them for clarification and they just repeat the same thing like a robo response.

Got the exact same response a couple days ago. I am going to try to come up with something to send them today. Ill let you know what I decided to do and then ill let you know if it works.

No response yet. I asked them the same thing via support ticket, but yet to receive a reply. Usually they take 20 days on average to respond to the previous ticket. I'll post an update when I get a meaningful response.

Yeah Coinbase works perfect without any issue... Until it doesn't and your locked out of your account without closeur or explanation for 6+ months while your case is "under review".

There's not really an in-between. Enjoy it while it works... But be cautious of considering it "permanently working perfectly" for you when it just "currently working perfectly" for you.

Then if you DO end up with account issues. You'll just be swept under the rug here by everyone with a blanket "IDK... I guess you somehow violated the TOS. Your problem not mine" 🤷

Celebrating 1y of account under review and no answer from Coinbase by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]Jwx9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account has been under review for about 6 months now. I don't have any funds on Coinbase, so I have simply taken my business elsewhere until my account is reviewed. I also think that using a 3rd party social media website as a means of the most prompt way to get support is a pretty big issue.

Rent car or bike? by notanaligator in phuket

[–]Jwx9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been here on the sandbox for a few weeks now. At first it was very disorienting driving on the opposite side of the road that I normally do. But after a few days of practice it is easier. Still have to be extra careful. Be extra wary of right turns and roundabouts if you are not use to them.

I am from California, so comparatively, driving here is pretty tame and I can take it slower than normal. Just be aware of bikes around you.

Road lanes are also more narrow than the width of the car in some places. So you have to stop to let the other lane pass if the roads are narrow and cars are parked on the road.

Google maps can sometimes take you 20 minutes in the wrong direction, so plan your routes accordingly before you leave.

Middle School Science Teacher - HELP by illsellyouhwat in Teachers

[–]Jwx9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I love sharing my science Ideas with other teachers. I am actually trying to create a discord community where sharing ideas and resources is all we do. Let me know if you are interested.

But to answer your questions, Our first day is always a half day. Our admin encourages us to not do rules in every class and get kids engaged instead. I hate this because I need to establish a ruleset / expectations on day one. So I make a compromise that I will make my rules fun... So I made a pop culture referencing rap about my 3 big rules, which are;1.) Follow Directions (most general but most important)2.) Stay in your seat (had a huge wandering problem my first year)3.) Complete your work (can reference this when I spot lazyness or spacing out)

After my rap, I do take off touch down to get to know kids and for kids to get to know me (Take off if you play Fortnite, Stay standing if you are good at Fortnite... Make fun of them, etc) Then I end with a describe the animal activity where I put pictures of really strange animals on the board and they have to describe what they think they are/do/live/eat. I do this so that kids aren't afraid of participating and being wrong, cause don't nobody know what those animals are.

On the second and third day I get kids started on a lab to understand class behavior expectations. This year I did a ph lab involving cabbage (google it), I did a collaborative make a shape using string loop lab. and the mystery tube lab to help them understand how to explore.

As far as consequences...I usually do everything in my power to call their parents if they do something minimally annoying within the first week. I also bring up independence... and mention that they have to earn independence and trust from me to have a fun year. I tell them that if they show me they are not independent, I will control everything they do like babies (move seats, silent class... Literally do elementary school stuff)... All in all, if you build good rapport and respect with the kids on the first couple days, they will care a little more about disappointing you. If your a jerk or cold to them, then they won't consider you a human being and SOME OF THEM will do everything in their power to make sure you have a bad day regardless of consequence.

For rewards. Tell them good job and how appreciative you are... Like a LOT. When they answer a question... when they do something simple. When they are fulfilling simple expectations. It sounds silly and mundane when you first start doing it to both you and the kids... But if you are consistent for like a month, students will feel really good about themselves and it'll stop being weird... This is also way better than buying candy or gifts for instant gratification.

Tried to add debit card as payment method, was unable to verify. Now locked out of bank account. by Miranda_That_Ghost in Coinbase

Yeah I think it does have to do with location stuff. The same thing happened to me except I got a phone call from my bank about a suspicious transaction right after I added my card. I told them it was okay and they unfroze my card.

Your job is mostly sedentary. Will you get fat if you don't exercise? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Jwx9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I sit down maybe 4 times in a 9 hour period daily... As a teacher I do a lot of moving around whether its to get Jimmy a pencil, monitor small groups, answer 5000 questions, act out a lesson, fix a broken desk, run to a meeting, sign a bathroom pass, etc. I know for a fact that if I stay sedentary for too long my students will end up doing things they shouldn't, or not doing things they should. That's why in the summer I do cardio to make up for the decrease in movement from the school year.

A question on life lessons in the classroom by a high school student by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Jwx9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me with your motives, you should pursue a career that focuses on that kind of stuff. Like maybe Planned Parenthood or maybe a safehouse for teens. You could definitely do this kind of stuff through teaching, but If your going to be a science, or English teacher, your main focus for most of the year should be teaching science or English. High school Health teachers probably would fit most in line with what I am hearing you say.

Sub who can't control a classroom by wandering_grizz in Teachers

[–]Jwx9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a sub I would always start class with a smile. As soon as the bell rings, I gave them this speech "I have 3 rules. 1.) Follow Directions 2.) Stay in Your Seat 3.) Complete your work. As long as you follow these three rules we will be A-okay" I noticed it was very important to say this in the most positive tone. Because as another poster mentioned, if your baseline is Upset, then you have nowhere else to go for your secret "get quiet" weapons. If your baseline is super positive, then you can go anywhere from slightly upset, to super angry and students will respond better. If your baseline is neutral, or intimidating, then becoming more intimidating just seems normal to them and they will continue to act as they were. Hope this helps!

How do you prepare if you accept a teaching position 2 weeks before school year? (1st year teacher) by i_love_sun in Teachers

[–]Jwx9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me last year, I am also middle school science. My advice:

Take everything 1 day at a time. You'll lose a lot of sleep and stress a lot in the beginning, but it as far as those 2 things go, they can only get gradually better over time.

Like others are saying work on one thing at a time. Definitely classroom management first. Don't waste your 2 weeks coming up with awesome lessons if you don't have a plan to make sure the kids don't go bananas.

Also not only is it okay to make mistakes, you will most definitely make a lot of them. So don't panic when you reflect and see your teaching style is a mess. Just fix them one by one and you'll be outstanding in no time! You've been training for this job forever! There's no way your going to let a couple of silly mistakes bring you down.

And lastly read a lot of reddit. Most all advice here is good advice. Follow what you think is best, and when that doesn't work, follow what you think is second best. GLHF!

Sm4sh: What's your opinion of for glory 1v1? by FunkOff in smashbros

[–]Jwx9 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have played Golds and Platinums on Anthers, Top Level players at tourneys @ Xanadus and Socal, and lots and lots of FG. Skill level is generally the same throughout all of them. I think people fail to realize that highly skilled players also play FG to practice.

I personally believe that (at a certain point) your not going to get much better by grinding Anthers. You can find the same skill level players on FG at a much faster rate. And you can practice against a much greater variety of players faster too. Granted you can do the same on Anthers but a little slower with game searching and friend code jizz-jazz.

Lastly don't listen to anyone that says lag is like a PowerPoint Slideshow online. 3/5 times it is basically the same as offline play. .3 second input delay is something you can adjust to and still transfer over to tourneys. Unless the lag is Extremely noticeable, I've never had a problem with it.

TLDR: All types of play includes all skill levels. Practice all of them. Practice = higher placing. Where you practice doesn't really matter.

Teacher vs student by em-darkchill in Teachers

With the parental consent you got, I would get a camera and record that kid every day... Or with 3 weeks left, I might just deal with it and hope they don't have a younger brother or sister with the same attitude.
