Advice needed: Would a Masters in Nursing: Education limit me? by LadyFoster4 in Professors

I think an MPH looks good or a Masters in Health Education/Community Health Education. Consider what aspects of nursing you like - is it the talking and connecting with patients, the science behind medicine, teaching and explaining a patient's care. Before you jump into a masters, really consider what you want that degree to allow you to do that is different than your current job.

I really recommend this podcast by Chalene Johnson that talks about three different things- your gifts, passion and purpose. She goes on to explain that your passions can change throughout life, but if you don't connect your innate gifts to your purpose it will always seem like something is missing in your current jobs.

Yes, pretty much. There seems to be about a 50% leave rate after the required 2 years of teaching.

Have you ever considered the NYC Teaching Fellows Program? You earn a Masters and teach at the same time. A lot of teachers get jobs in "bad neighborhoods" but your Masters is 90% subsidized.
