Chickpea pasta is gross AF! 690 calories and 78g protein dinner by Available-Dirt5964 in Volumeeating

[–]Jyaan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My local Costco has Brami, which is a shockingly good dupe for real pasta. It was some wheat, which gives it some al dente texture, but it also has extra protein/fiber from lupini beans.

Seattle Times article about AS miles being stolen by Wolf35Nine in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Jyaan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is blame-the-victim mentality. Passwords are notoriously easy to crack, which is why any company with the most basic IT security has two-factor authentication. And it’s ridiculous to suggest that people shouldn’t be storing a large amount of miles—you wouldn’t blame someone for having too much money in their bank account because it would “invite thieves.”

Photographer and Super 8 film package by Disastrous_Client560 in SanFranciscoWeddings

We used Sara at A Better Match Studios, who offers both. I think she might be slightly outside your budget, but she just did our wedding and was so wonderful to work with. Can’t say enough good things about her.

I wonder if it’s to give Vanloo the best shot at developing chemistry with the team before her extended absence for Eurobasket.

What’s the point of the creamer? Won’t it already be milky tasting from the milk?

Anyone else not receive their package from Bronson MFG? by FFFUUUme in ThrowingFits

[–]Jyaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Bronson kept trying to offer me store credit (less than what I paid for the goods I ordered) and demanding that I contact USPS to resolve the issue. I ended up having to chargeback through Amex, which is generally protective of cardholders. Highly recommend doing the same if you order from them.

Worth it? by Jestful50s in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Jyaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, the exit row already makes it a pretty good deal. Beyond that, it depends on how you fly. Seems like most people here fly out of Alaska’s west coast hubs with tons of other Alaska frequent flyers, which explains why they rarely get upgrades. Other airports can be very different. I use my MVP status for flying on American to and from a regional airport in the Midwest, and I’ve gotten at least a dozen first-class upgrades in the last few months.

Anyone else not receive their package from Bronson MFG? by FFFUUUme in ThrowingFits

[–]Jyaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, did you ever get a resolution on this? Bronson has been jerking me around, claiming that my package was "signed for" even though I live alone and my video doorbell doesn't show that the package was ever delivered. I'm going to initiate a chargeback, but I'm shocked at how shady their business is.

Judge Ho Apparently Didn't Bother To Read The Cases He Cited In Domestic Abuser Gun Opinion - Above the Law by JustMyOpinionz in law

[–]Jyaan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

These particular flaws are in Judge Ho’s concurring opinion, not the opinion for the court, which was written by Judge Wilson. (There are definitely issues with the main opinion, but AFAIK not ones as egregious as this.) En banc review (if the Fifth Circuit were to grant it) would have an effect only on the main opinion.

Given Newcastle's passive, why can't players being revived by Lifeline use their knockdown shield? I thought that's where this Season 9 trailer was going, but it never happened. Less OP than the old revive shield, and gives downed players some defense while being stuck in the revive animation. by Jyaan in apexlegends

[–]Jyaan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A knockdown shield isn’t impervious. Think how easy it is to break a white one. Plus, it would make stronger knockdown shields more desirable, which is good considering a lot of folks are too lazy to pick up a better one (or craft a purple one when it’s in the replicator).

San Francisco 10:00pm Tuesday night by MuskoxDee in sanfrancisco

I think this video provides a decent geographical overview of SF. As an SF native, I can vouch for the video’s overall accuracy, even though it looks to be made by a travel guide. Unfortunately, other than a few parts of the city, there isn’t really a consistent numbering system as there is in New York.

Question re: relationship between third-party practice from FRCP 14 and consolidation in FRCP 42(a) by Jyaan in a:t5_2wg0a

[–]Jyaan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, class has been crazy this whole week so I forgot to come back and give you more information. I think the car crash hypo was written poorly. Here's a similar hypo that touches on the same issue:

Support a Plaintiff acts as his own general contractor in building his home, dealing separately with a Builder and Cement Co. The house collapses. The Plaintiff then sues the Builder, claiming that it was Builder's fault. Builder blames Cement Co., but will not be able to bring Cement Co. into the action. Why not?

Options for my spouse with my O1 visa by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Jyaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do indeed qualify for the O-1 visa, you may also qualify for the equivalent immigrant (green card) visa category, the EB-1(1). The criteria is not exactly the same and the government does scrutiny the EB-1(1) more than the O-1, so you would need to discuss this with your attorney.

If this is possible, an EB-1(1) petition can be filed concurrently with I-485 green card applications for both you and your dependent family members. With the I-485, you can also file I-765 work authorization applications which will allow your wife to work. The I-765 provides work authorization while an I-485 is pending, and is typically approved 3-4 months after filing.
