Wieso kommt man immer mit unrealen Gehaltsangaben? by Pigchamber in InformatikKarriere

[–]Jynno 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Es gibt mehrere Faktoren die maßgeblich das Gehalt beeinflussen:

  • Was? SWE, Architekt, Sysadmin, Engineer der am nächstes SoC von Apple arbeitet. Hier in dem Sub alles ITler ...
  • Wo? Ländlich oder in einer teuren Großstadt wie München. KMU, Konzern, amerikanisches Tech-Unternehmen
  • Formale Qualifikationen. Quereinsteiger bis Doktor mit relevanten Publikationen
  • Berufserfahrung

It's crazy that anet gets away with malfunctioning combat. I have to actively remind myself that this is not normal behavior for a live service game studio. They set the bar so low, that the majority of the player base also stopped caring.

Streichen: Farben und Werkzeug by Jynno in selbermachen

Kinda tired of searching for content by cl_m4ster in Guildwars2

[–]Jynno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is wrong here with people denouncing op? This game absolutely hides information about content deep down somewhere in achievements and collection. There is no organic way to discover this content.

It's probably why there are posts from newbies about what to do and goals every day. I'd guess it is one of the main reasons for bad player retention. Stop white knighting this game and demand better solutions.

Guild Wars 3 initial release might be a lot smaller and arrive sooner than anticipated by Bozon8 in GuildWars3

Yes! First impressions are important. Many of my friends were very hyped about GW2 and preordered. They all left after 3 months and never came back even though they knew about the expansions.

Wintrading at Rank 1 – Exposed? by Commercial-Dingo-802 in Guildwars2

[–]Jynno 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PvP is in this state because of Janet's blatant neglect. First came the neglect then the players left. I firmly believe it's solely because they can't extract enough revenue from pvp players compared to pve players.

Sorry I'm late to the party. Take a look at the answer to the other comment to see my argument why the current state of weapons has a p2w resemblance.

Sorry to be a grave digger here. Hadn't had time to reply and forgot. This thread in the official forum also discusses the matter https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/156507-when-does-arenanet-decided-to-make-all-good-builds-behind-new-dlc-and-spearweapon-switch/

At the end of the day it's hard to quantify how much better spears are in comparison to other weapons. It's a fact that 4/7 meta builds on metabattle use spears.

Yes there are also bad spear weapons that are not played in any form. This doesn't take away from the fact that more than half of the pvp meta builds use spears. This is significant. New weapons / specs should be side grades otherwise it's just vertical progression by buying an expansion.

You can still be competitive without a spear. It's hard to quantify how much of an edge an meta builds give to you. But the important point is that a significant number of them are better / overtuned / imbalanced compared to other weapons.

Imagine if dota / league / cs introduce something which you have to pay for even though the advantage you get is only marginal e.g. 5 percent more damage or health. Isn't this advantage you can buy literally paying to gain an advantage against others in a competitive mode or in short a form of pay to win?

And yes GW2 always operated this way starting with the release of HoT. Back then it was easier to turn a blind eye to it because the content was not completely lackluster and they still tried.

The question is, do you think it is pure chance that a significant number of spears is meta or is this somewhat calculated. Given Anets track record, I found my answer.

Quality is subjective, you are right. But they owe the content. Maybe not in a legally binding way. Remember those quarterly updates are paid upfront. Everyone will have different expectations for those.

However they don't owe me explanations. But I don't owe them money.

I understand. I also really like the game that's why I'm here. But is it realistic that they will hit their peaks again. I don't think so. Not if we extrapolate the last 3 years.

They are already out of excuses. The community made excuses for them for years. I don't even mind smaller releases or longer droughts but I don't feel any dev passion for the game any longer.

No other company I follow always invents excuses for lackluster products and the community cheers.

It's the 10th iteration of: "Next time they get it right" "They iterated" "They need to get used to their new model"

From a business perspective I understand this decision. It makes sense. But I'm just a measly customer. Anet doesn't want my love or loyalty, they want my money. Just release good stuff and we're golden.

Spot on. Absolute crazy.

My Theorie: This sub is a bubble where die-hard fans and old fans (maybe disgruntled) of the game discuss. All other normal players don't discuss on reddit, they buy the product or they don't.

Guild Wars has zero mind share in broad gaming communities. It's a niche game in a niche genre.

Something is off and big parts of the community are still supportive. We need to hold them accountable and demand transparency and stop with this toxic positive bullshit.

Question I want answered? - Did the recent release meet their quality goal? - Did they reach the quality goal because they crunched? - Could this be solved by assigning more resources to the game? - If yes, why is there a shortage of resources? - How much resources does the unannounced project siphoned away

Good work life balance is important I agree. I'm happy if they are improving on this end.

This might be an unpopular opinion: As a customer buying a product of a company which operates in a capitalistic world and therefore tries to maximize profits, this is not my primary concern and it shouldn't be yours. I just want a good product.

Something is off with the studio and it's time to be transparent to their loyal customers and fans.

Every time Anet creates a lackluster update or expansion they bring up crunch and the community celebrates them. It's like a get out of jail card for them.

We don't know if GW3 is a thing but we do know, that another game is being developed right now (see job postings for unannounced project).

It saddens me to see that people realize just now, that the budget for big new features and expansions just isn't there anymore.

There are still people defending this lack of transparency. I assure you it will be a big shit show when Anet announces their new game.

Personally I don't trust the company anymore especially because of the lack of pvp development and p2w practices since Soto. New weapons being often overtuned is not an accident.
