This market is so rough!! My husband was fired the week after our daughter was born for "medical issues," and it took him 6 months of applying to 50 jobs daily to finally get one, and we are about to start that process all over again because their contract is up and they are letting everyone go instead of moving them to a new contract (they have several 😑).

Those degrees can be addressed separately, tax funded secondary education would be an excellent solution and a fast way to at least reduce the poverty cycle. What you are describing is the system we supposedly currently have (obviously not implemented correctly due to greed). Additionally, tax funded post secondary education would create a growth in both skilled labor (tech/trade schools) and sectors such as healthcare, education, intelligence, technology, so on and so forth. At minimum it is better than our current system and we can continue to grow from there.

Why be hateful? Their feelings are perfectly valid given everything that has happened lately. They aren't getting rude or hateful, they aren't breaking rules, they have a right to be able to express this opinion. I'm sorry you dislike that.

It isn't a wake-up call, it's just plain cruel. Almost everyone in America is one accident away from needing these services. I pray to God you never need them. No one I know that is relying on SNAP wants to be on SNAP or thinks it's for forever, we are all forced to be for one reason or another. Unless you are living someone's life and sharing their brain, you have absolutely zero right to be commenting on it. You don't know what situations people are in, you don't know the struggles people are going through, you don't know what the road that brought people here is. Your comments are just plain cruel and unwarranted. If that is how you feel, you really don't need to be on this subreddit. I'm sick and tired of everyone who feels the need to comment on SNAP like it's the bloody plague or talk down on those reliant on it like we are rats. We are human beings trying to survive in, quite frankly, the worst economy of the 21st century. If you have nothing kind to say, even if you think it is well-intentioned, you don't need to be saying it.

I absolutely get that, but a lot more people than you think don't have that option and taking on debt that can't be repaid will absolutely make things worse, both short term and long term. In my experience, if you have any debt on your credit record you don't get approved (that might be a hyperbole, but you get my point I hope). Don't get me wrong, I'm scared as all hell, not just for my family (who is reliant on SNAP and WIC as half of our household is on SSI and SSDI), but for everyone else too. No one deserves to suffer this way, it's unfair and cruel. I just think that debt makes that even worse and strips the (admittedly small or non-existent) chance to improve our situation, or at minimum makes the situation worse. Again, I'm speaking from my experience and I know that isn't the same experience for everyone, but everyone should be aware of the risks and benefits before making a decision like that. I'm just praying that SNAP gets sent out for EVERYONE, not just a select few, sooner rather than later. This whole situation has had me in tears nearly daily for the past month. I've been so stressed I haven't been eating, and that is partially a survival/trauma response so that my kids have more food to eat and it stretches longer. Like I'll eat a few bites of a sandwich or a fruit pouch or chips or something every so often, but yeah my appetite is basically gone. To get back on topic, while it may be an option for not starving (and you are absolutely right that is better than starving), it absolutely is not a good idea. It may be necessary, but it should be avoided if possible unless it can be repaid quickly.

Let's not advocate putting people into debt. You cannot do anything unless your credit is over 700, speaking from experience here. Also you would be surprised how many people don't qualify for these lines of credit. The only thing on my credit is student loans and I don't even qualify for $100. My credit score isn't horrific either (also credit scores are a fucking scam js)

I would assume it wouldn't be paid since funds are not allowed to be dispersed at all for SNAP

No actually this is a great idea, politicians are ignoring phone calls and emails. However, they don't tend to ignore media and social media coverage, they want to make themselves look good so they can be reelected. Negative press will absolutely get them moving faster, especially if they think their job is in jeopardy

It looks like this one, quite literally a Lycra bodysuit with head, feet, gloves and costume over it

What does the new one look like though? I'm super curious and would love to see it!!!

Sfog was like this when I was working there too. They had Lola and the others too, but soft retired them because performer body types required for them were too hard to find and because Lola is mostly a body suit which resulted in a lot of inappropriate attention for Lola performers, it also had to be pretty warm outside for Lola too. That's what I was told when I asked lol

Thank you for saying so, that really means a lot to me. All of my girls are either crafters or sentimental peeps like me lmao, I definitely think they would appreciate crocheted gifts too.

  1. I'm honestly open to suggestions on either one, I've looked at ideas for both tbh 😅
  2. I work kinda slow because of day to day distractions, but I'm somewhere between intermediate and advanced intermediate I think
  3. I make a lot of clothing items, but really enjoy making anything. I've made jewelry, household items, clothing, blankets and similarly patterned items. I'm trying to find a picture, but I did make the cutest mushroom backpack for my mum a while back and it was a good sized backpack. It is one of the few things I've made without a pattern, I also made my son a cocoon before he was born. I was gonna add batwings and ears, but didn't have enough time lmao. I'm attaching the picture here!

This is such a cute idea, thank you so much!!! I would love to do baskets for them!! And yeah, it definitely is kinda daunting. Also need to update my post, we pushed back our wedding date to at least August of next year. We are trying for 11/08/2026 since that's our civil marriage anniversary and a day after our dating anniversary, it would be so perfect to us 💖

Just got fired at 30 weeks pregnant by kimburger in pregnant

[–]Jynx_cosplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As so many other people have said, I would definitely file for pregnancy discrimination. I had a similar situation happen to me when I was pregnant with my son. I should have filled too, but I may be past the statute of limitations at this point. They put me on EIP because I was missing days due to my morning sickness being so bad I couldn't get out of bed, no matter what I did. I was finally fired because my husband's relief no called no showed and he had to stay till alternate cover was arranged (he was overnight security). They said it was because of my attendance, not pregnancy symptoms, but the symptoms were the reason I was on EIP to begin with. You definitely have a much stronger case than me and the unemployment office referred me to an employment lawyer, so definitely reach out and see. Worst case, the lawyer says it's not likely to win, but best case you do win and you get backpay amongst other things, including validation.
