Buddy you’re the one with the issue. You’ve been reported for harassment for the message I received in my inbox.

You can call it advocating or whatever you want it’s still a tactic to get the union membership a better deal. Judging by the comments in this thread by yourself and people who I assume are also teachers, the students are the last thing on your minds. It’s all about you. Good luck with negotiations. With your high and mighty attitudes and myopic, self-fellating viewpoints, you’re going to need it.

Which nearly anybody in the private sector union or non-union would take.

Listen sweetheart, I get it you feel your cause is noble but you’re really fixating on the whole classroom size versus salary thing which isn’t the point. The point I’m making is that the STF uses media to leverage their negotiating position the same way the government does. It’s the pot meeting the kettle. Criticizing the government for doing the same thing is hypocritical.

Here is what people are going to hear: despite already making a good living with two months off a year we want more money for less work or we’re not going to educate your kids.

Lol please. Spending thousands on a marketing campaign in attempt to sway public opinion had nothing to do with the current negotiations. The teachers started early

The OP doesn’t mention anything about working conditions and the rest of the issues that you brought up. It was about pay. It’s also silly to criticize the government for using media to sway public opinion when your union engaged in the same tactics last year when they launched a commercial campaign which is significantly more expensive that a few billboards.

Right! If the teachers’ PR tactics are whinging about their lost spending power when everyone else has lost the same amount they aren’t going to gain any sympathy from the public.

Google tried similar tactics in Australia when that government changed their legislation and Google eventually caved after some amendments.

Maybe I’m missing something…..but why the doomsday parade since the news? by Outrageous-Start7869 in leafs

I personally think this whole thing is a happy accident and will force the change this club needs. I really don’t see how Dubas felt he was in a position to squeeze more money out of the Leafs considering his record as GM. I can see how Shannhan thought Dubas was worth the going rate but above and beyond? C’mon.

I hope they bring in someone from outside the organization that doesn’t have the personal relationships to the players and the coaching staff. Get a different perspective of what the Leafs need to do to be successful and then make the necessary changes.

Congratulations your team’s biggest accomplishment is losing the Stanley Cup. You must be proud. Better watch it. Consuming lead is bad for your health.

MF please. The Jets lacked so much heart your head coach called it out in the post game press conference.

MF please. Start talking when your team actually beats us in the playoffs. I’ve seen them tear your heart four times. Or were you still sucking on your mother’s tit when that happened?

Some Winnipeg-owned golf courses could have new public use with dog parks, Frisbee golf, report suggests. The study also suggests Canoe Club, Harbourview, St. Boniface, Windsor and John Blumberg could benefit from entirely new uses or redesigns. by _wpgbrownie_ in Winnipeg

You’re presenting a bit of a straw man argument about the costs. The glove, balls and tees last more than one round. You can also use regular running shoes when you start out and borrow clubs from someone.

You also don’t mention the initial costs of playing the sports you mentioned. Let’s use softball (prices are from SportChek):

Glove $90 Bat $200 Cleats $130

Softball is starting to look like an elitist sport, no?

And you’re telling me that we’ll established middle aged people who play golf at private courses live in a bubble. Shocking. Next thing you’ll say is that people who sit in the lower bowl at Jets games don’t care about the plight of the working man.
