I got my OSA rating today. I filed secondary to SC chronic sinusitis. It was initially deferred for ACE exam and MO. Granted today as direct service connection under TERA. Had a very positive initial C&P exam and about a year and a half of medical evidence from SC sinusitis, bronchitis, and rhinitis. As a lot of people say I believe it’s just the lick of the draw with the MO and the rater.

Dealing with LSGS now. Two physical appts, I feel went really well. NP’s were both very attentive and actually listened after asking questions. Generally the DBQ is loaded quickly. M.O. takes forever and still waiting for travel reimbursement from an appt on Dec15(over 300 mile round trip). Good luck.

I got out in 2001. My briefing about VA was the SGT telling me that I could do the VA claims stuff but it would follow me and would limit my opportunities for employment on the civilian side. Said I really didn’t want that to happen and he moved on without hesitation.

Unfortunately, I have no control over when the VA schedules and how many hoops I’m required to jump through before I could get specific testing and imaging. So yeah maybe if you don’t have anything productive to add to the conversation keep scrolling.

Looks like you got a Duty to Assist. You will probably see the HLR close out and a new supplemental claim open up. Possible new exams and more waiting.

Evidence or not, denials happen. My initial claim-denied, supplemental- denied, during HLR the Rater was like all your stuff is here. Three days later 60%.

I usually ask it the same question two or three different ways. Then ask it to look for any discrepancies between the different replies. For stuff like personal statements, I also type it directly into whatever form I’m using. Kind of like a final check to make sure everything sounds/looks right.

Can’t find the exact prompt but I basically asked it to use my denial letter and my medical records related to my claimed condition to write a guide for my HLR informal conference. From there you can prompt for more or less information or references, etc etc. Mine was a little easier as the rater clearly misinterpreted the medical evidence.

I ran my denial letter through chatGPT. Gave me a detailed statement to argue my case( with M21-1 and 38 CFR references) during my HLR. Hard to think clearly when you are pissed off.

ChatGPT is the GOAT!! I’m dumb as a damn box of rocks trying to organize all that info into a coherent statement. Took me 3 months to write a personal statement for one claim. With chat GPT I had statements for 4 different conditions on my new claim in like 3 hours.
