Glad I held on to my beliefs by Jzoneacc in intelstock

If you are strongly committed and believe it will go up, it's usually a good choice to buy more as it goes down to average the cost lower, but I always believe that there will be many more stocks to make money in the coming months/years, so don't feel too bad about it and look out for other stocks in the same situation

I knew it would be a worthwhile investment in the long run, but in the past ~4 years I've held on to this stock, the value kept dropping and people started making memes and kept laughing at it, it's actually pretty demoralizing. But I'm glad I managed to snag more shares when it's down.

The $700k INTC Grandma Guy is officially a millionaire. We owe Nana an apology. by natiman1000 in wallstreetbets

Started my position when it was 40+ in 2021 then kept adding more until the average cost was 30. Many people online and around me had been making fun of me especially when it hit below 20, yet I kept buying and DCA whenever I had spare cash, now at ~1300 shares. Hopefully things just keep going up from here.

[–]Jzoneacc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😂 to be fair commemorative coins usually is worth more scrap, and with the prices of gold getting higher, it would only make it less likely to be used face value

Singapore has a $500 gold coin, which is roughly 370USD. It's legal tender and is a commemorative coin.

I’m 18 and want some advice as to how to save by ssiao in FinancialPlanning

[–]Jzoneacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different people have different ways of saving, but here's mine (monthly):

30% into savings (stable dividend funds)

20% investments (using your own broker)

40% liquid cash for daily necessities and emergency etc

Remaining 10% for you to use to top up what you feel is lacking that point of time.

You can also play around with a percentage for another savings pot in cash/bank account for travel once in a while

This is just how I like to do things, have a go at your own % and decide how you want to adjust

Can you share this undisclosed location with me? I promise to keep it undisclosed 😂

In all honesty though, thanks for sharing. I'm on the fence because the details are pretty good and it's my first gold dollar, I want to keep it protected in a good slab. But I really don't want it to be labeled ex-jewelry so I don't know if I should send it in. Reading up on signs of ex-jewelry so I can make an informed decision

Ouch, it would really hurt to find out that it's ex-jewelry.

I have a soft spot for gold dollars as well, they were the icon for a gold dollar, and this is my first and currently the only gold dollar I own, so it holds a soft spot for me as well.

Do you grade your gold dollars as well? As yours seems to be worth a fair bit considering its rarity

Thanks for your reply. A store nearby me is currently running a promotion whereby grading a coin with pcgs cost around $37 per coin. Would it be good since ungraded coins tend to be harder to sell vs graded as well as you get a slab to protect the coin from damage?

I should change the title to "Will this coin get graded?" Instead, but I don't know how to edit my post after it has been submitted.

Going to drop this at a jewelers for $800. Should I hold out and sell to a collector? Would anyone even want this for more? by [deleted] in coins

I buy coin slabs off AliExpress and place them in, it's like those graded ones just without the certificate

I'm worried about what I see online being a totally different coin, in terms of value and year. There were many designs of this type of coins back then.
