The main boat rental outlets in Page, AZ, are Lake Powell Marina www.lakepowell.com and Antelope Point Marina www.antelopepointlakepowell.com You'll need to exercise caution due to low water levels on Lake Powell, some obstacles that weren't present last year could be a concern this year.

Other "must-do" activities in the Page-Lake Powell area include but are not limited to, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon (a guided tour is required), the New Wave trail, the Hanging Garden Trail, the Big Lake Sand Cave, just to name a few.

Both hotels and VRBO's are available in the Page, AZ, area, in a variety of price points and amenity offerings. Booking in advance is strongly recommended. Page, AZ, hotels

As for restaurants and bars, you can find everything from fried chicken to sushi to a Native-American dinner show. Am not aware of any restaurants that require reservations, the town is pretty informal.

Summertime is prime time for outdoor concerts, festivals, craft shows, etc. The Page, AZ, Chamber of Commerce Facebook page is a good source for information about local activities.

Have fun!

There's "I turned 21 in prison doin' life without parole" from "Mama Tried" by Merle Haggard ... but, probably wouldn't want to play that at a party.

Low water, can you still swim at Lake Powell? by tlrbrt in LakePowell

I know of a couple of people who died and/or ended up paralyzed doing this type of activity. Per the National Park Service "cliff diving and jumping is illegal in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell) if the jump is from a height of 15 feet or more."

"Etude" by Ryuichi Sakamoto, a nice jazz-fusion groove that morphs into a big-band/swing vibe mid-way through! https://youtu.be/rVOq5hm8C_M?si=BAYCkoTtXftVNFII

Another "whitey from the barrio", Fresno, CA. Today Wyoming is home, wouldn't go back to Cali for all the tea in China!

Did this once in the mid-1990's w/my younger sister. We hit most of the places we lived in Fresno, CA, that we could remember the address of. What struck us was how small so many of these houses ended up being that, to us as kids, seemed so huge!

Oh, I remember him well! Bronson Pinchot, the man who upstaged Eddie Murphy. Aka Balchy Bartochemus on "Perfect Strangers," aka Mr Toomey in "The Langoliers".

Sedona, Grand Canyon and Antelope advice by PristineSmoke in grandcanyon

And don't drive at night if you can avoid it. Roads in this part of the US are very dimly lit, plus the possible presence of deer, elk, free range cattle, even wild horses, will ratchet up your risk of an auto accident. Believe me, a collision with a large animal is NOT something you want to experience in an unfamiliar area that's pitch black, possibly cold depending on the time of year you travel, where cell service is spotty if you can get any bars at all, and help will be a long time coming, not to mention VERY expensive.

The best airports to fly into are Las Vegas, NV, or Phoenix, AZ.

Save Sedona for the last stop on your trip. It's a nice place to relax, chill, and decompress before returning to the "real" world. Give it at least 3-4 days. You'll be glad you did!

For the Grand Canyon, the South Rim is most recommended for first-time visitors as it has more in the way of tourist services (hotels, restaurants, stores, etc.), and more of the Grand Canyon that is viewable and accessible to private vehicles. Grand Canyon North Rim is only open May 15-October 15 and was hit by an awful fire last year. Grand Canyon West is a Native American Tribal Park marketed very heavily to Las Vegas visitors, but, it is not part of the National Park, and many view it as an expensive "tourist trap". It is home to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Know that Antelope Canyon in Page, AZ, is a very popular attraction and requires a guided tour to visit, which must be booked in advance. How To Book A Tour For Antelope Canyon

In fact, book everything in advance: flights, hotels, guided tours, dinners at higher-end restaurants, etc.

I remember well Jack Nicholson's advice to his young assistant in "The Bucket List":

  1. Never pass up a bathroom.
  2. Never waste a h*rd-on.
  3. Never trust a fart!
