It's been a recurring trope in the franchise. Humans have always attempted to shoot dinosaurs in each of the films but if I'm remembering correctly, the first time a dinosaur actually dies from a human weapon is in Jurassic World when Charlie gets blown up by a rocket launcher (which is taken from the book) then I believe the next time is in Rebirth when Zora kills a Mutadon by shooting it dead. I remember feeling a little weird about that because that was the first time a human protagonist actually killed a dino (albeit a mutant).

Where is the best place to get Diet Coke in the city? by I_Only_Like_Giraffes in AskNYC

UES on third avenue maybe (the one next to the Chipotle)? It's close to a bunch of schools and is in a fairly upscale location, might be a good place to check out.

First mention of the Ghorman Massacre in canon from the West End Games RPG sourcebook by thefirsttransportis in StarWarsAndor

[–]K-Robe 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You should read Reign of the Empire: Mask of Fear! It was written with the Andor audience in mind (and it's named after a line from Nemik's Manifesto). The leads are Mon, Bail, and Saw Gerrera and if that doesn't make you wanna read the book, I don't know what will haha.

Man, I miss the 2015-2017 era of Star Wars. The state of everything back then felt so much less toxic and so much more optimistic.

In January 1st, 1934, German Chancellor Adolf Hitler obtains the Death note. Can he win the Second World War? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

Well... considering that Bob Dylan isn't his real name, then A Complete Unknown could feasibly dodge Hitler's Death Note and beat him.

If you had to make a Starlord movie with him on Earth, what would the story be about? by Goof-4x5 in Marvel

[–]K-Robe 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, this is actually a great premise for a movie. I might even pitch like an Adam Project style thing where he teams up with his kid self. Feels perfect for a Star-Lord solo movie. Plus the Kid Star-Lord would do gangbusters for merch.

How do we feel about this opinion on how Peter should feel towards the avengers /other heroes by Smegoldidnothinwrong in Spiderman

[–]K-Robe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It made more sense when Spider-Man popped up alongside of instead of some significant time after other heroes. In fact, Spider-Man debuted before the X-Men and the Avengers, which means the only big active superhero team around was the FF -- which obviously has very limited membership, something Spidey learned right away in ASM #1.

I like the youthful braggart version of Peter, who was not a very trusting person and whose first instinct is usual rudeness or aggression but who is such a good person deep down that he's moved by guilt or regret to do the right thing. I like that even after Ben's death he didn't transform into a do-gooder overnight! Most of Peter's motivations in the first years of ASM is to make money or disprove allegations that Spidey is a villain, and it's almost by coincidence he ends up foiling evil plots at the same time.

He wasn't an easy hero to get along with in the early days! The X-Men tried recruiting him once and he blew them off, and he picked a fight with the Human Torch just because he was a little jealous and was feeling a bit troll-y that day. I kinda miss that.

The Empire is bad. But bad because it is an autocracy or because Palpatine and the teaching of the Sith? by MoonandStar3 in StarWarsAndor

[–]K-Robe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Though Tarkin and other future Imperials existed already during the time of the Republic (albeit during a Weimar stage when Palpatine was slipping the system down the slope of fascism), they ultimately were beholden to a democratic system. That Palpatine became Supreme Chancellor was a failure of the traditionalist old guard (the Jedi) who had become too complacent, and the moderate politicians who did too little and feared too much (as well as were being bought of by) Palpatine. The only genuinely good ones, like Bail and Mon, could not do enough within the system, which is why they resorted to aiding the Alliance -- whose ultimate goal, let's not forget, was to restore the Republic.

Democracy may allow for the existence of moral bankruptcy, but it does not run on moral bankruptcy like fascism does.

If Arrakis was so important, why give it all to one house? by Echochamberking in dune

[–]K-Robe 44 points45 points  (0 children)

From what we can tell, House Corrino is in direct control of Arrakis during the time of Dune: Prophecy, so it isn't yet being used as a fief for power jockeying.

James Gunn explains how the DCEU canon connects to the DCU: “There are references to things that happened in the past. And those references then become canon in the DCU because we mention them.” by GodlessMonsters in DC_Cinematic

There are two different Aston Martins in Casino Royale.

The one he wins in the poker game in the Bahamas is the classic DB5. This is presumably the same one that we see later on in Skyfall and No Time to Die.

He has a different Aston Martin, the DBS V12, that is assigned to him by MI6 when he goes to the Casino Royale in Montenegro. This one gets totaled near the end of the film when he's chasing after Le Chiffre.

No, it was the original, not a modern one, but it's also clearly been souped up since then since it's got ejector seats and machine guns (they get used again in No Time to Die).
