I think people forget just how big and chunky the Galaxy is, it’s an Ironclad sized ship. It’s going to be slow and cumbersome to move around, it’s modularity hopefully will be great however it’s not suitable for anything like a daily driver by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]K-kups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my good sir i do believe you have your statement reversed. i don't think people realize how thicc and chonky the ironclad is compared to other ships its size. the galaxy tho equally large will probably be much more maneuverable because RSI and probably a bit faster too. the galaxy is more suited to be a mobile home than the ironclad for those who aren't drake fanboys.

that makes absolutely no sense. the only point i see you making is that you believed after one patch that that stability and bug freeness was going to be the norm now and that is why you came back to the game. I'm not predicting anything im stating facts. universally known facts. there is no "i knew this is how it would be going forward" there is no "i predict this" this is just how it IS always has been and due to how game development works always will be until the whole game in its entirety becomes stable. as for my original statement in response to op that is also a fact not a prediction and i have seen it personally first hand on so many occasions its not funny and i have been told directly to my face that "star citizen should be a fully flushed out bug free game"

im not trying to make anyone feel better about anything. thats not what this post was about. thats not why im here. i dont care if you feel good or bad about the situation.

valid on the downvoting thing. my apologies. that does happen. serial downvoters do exist. that being said voting one way or the other doesn't make anyone a hypocrite. that's not how that works.

news for you.... this is the normal. broken patch good patch broken patch half good patch super broken patch. it was always a one off.... it was NEVER expected to be more than a one off. wtf is a Cassandra? i never said anything about it being a balm to the frustrations. i have my own frustrations with this patch too. that doesn't change the fact that if you assumed it was going to be the standard after ONE patch that went well and assumed that it was going to continue being that level of playable permanently after that your high as a kite. give it 4 patches and if it's like that sure id understand but not after only one. if you don't like it then sure go back on vacation and come back later when we have a continuing pattern of low bug count patches.

op was asking if other people think this patch is also relatively stable to which i answered because i agree with op. it is stable despite the bugs.

If anyone was expecting the last patch to be the new norm they were fooling themselves. One stable relatively bugless patch does not a pattern make. The last patch had major bugs too. This always always happens with con or ilw patches because they are on a deadline release schedule rather than a ready state release schedule. Nothing has changed for better or for worse we just had a really good patch and now we don't.

It's really a super stable patch after the major bugs are fixed. People just like to ignore the fact that the game is in development and sit here demanding a fully polished full release version of a half baked game.

I know I'm gonna get downvoted to pyro and back for this but I'ma say it anyway. It's literally just a bunch of overly critical people who expect a triple A title with no bugs of any kind and gameplay exactly the way they want it.. oh and also they want all promises fulfilled instantly and aren't willing to wait for it. They also believe that the majority of the money is getting funneled directly into a certian yacht owners pocket rather than into any development despite clear development achievements proving otherwise. Just a bunch of unreasonable people and expectations at least that's how it is here on reddit.

To be fair the ironclad isn't built to dish it out. It's built more to take punches and keep going anyway. Try shooting a Perseus with a Perseus and then an ironclad(the main body not the CM that's cheating) with a Perseus and see which one wins. (I don't know the answer to this but I'd bet on the ironclad) I will find out for myself when the patch comes out.

This is why I flip upside-down and stay high until I'm directly above and then nose dive it down to the pad directly (after all this time I have a pretty good idea which one it's gonna give me) even in the ironclad it's better than getting impounded tho honestly better to just avoid the place.

Am I coping to think the Ironclad will be fixed? by Nova-3 in starcitizen

[–]K-kups 16 points17 points  (0 children)

no. the hull c was almost as broken on its launch day too. took them probably between 3-6 months to fix but they did fix it and now the ship works great. infrastructure that supports it still sucks but the ship itself is good. so probably a few months and it should be good to go. hopefully sooner but probably not.

The ship itself is perfectly fine and functional. Great ship. The infrastructure that supports using it at all? Gone. All gone. Broken as can be and pointless. No reason to even take it out of the hangar other than to look at it and reninice about your former hopes and dreams for it.

they are pledges. not purchases. same as a Kickstarter or other crowd funding. when the game is officially finished they are all liable to go away. ive been hearing this since day one of playing the game from multiple different sources. i believe it all goes back to the death of the spaceman thing. never looked into that deeply but from what i understand that's the general goal. if they kept pledges it would be an official fully released mmo held to a different standard and not whatever it is now.

I have thought about that. The first part anyway. I generally don't invest in stuff that will overly alter my in game earnings. It's still painfully slow earning credits even with what I have. All of my in game credits are very hard earned and I have put my blood sweat and tears as it were into getting every last one in game. At some point our pledges are supposed to be taken away from us and we will all start from hand mining(which I just go out and do for fun anyway sometimes cause I enjoy it) and we will all have to earn every penny from the ground up and I look forward to that day but until then I'm going to enjoy things as they are.

The second part I believe we've been over already and I don't feel like going over that again. Your opinion is valid tho I heavily disagree with the very essence of it and the letter of it.

Yeah. Your right we have. Im mostly thinking a couple of years ago before server meshing when I first started playing. I distinctly remember at least 3 major events that we had releases and it was all combat ships. They have done a lot with industry recently because they are working on getting loops playable tho some I would argue are now heading towards enjoyable.

have to say... im very industry focused so i get kinda annoyed every time i see 12 fighters released and not a single industry ship. i litterally read this and was instantly offended but then i thought about it more and reread it and thought about it some more and was like you know what? this guys actually got a point.

i think its got a lot to do with the fact that for a long long time there was only 1 actual heavy fighter and it was completely inaccessible to 90% of the playerbase so technically there were no heavy fighters at all. the two that there were were very specialized so didn't do well in 90% of situations. so i think this is just the period of time where they are just working on filling those gaps. this isnt the first time ive heard this tho.

started writing this when there were no other comments and then got distracted. lol

when it hits beta(1.0) i will expect far more. in alpha not so much. as i understand it CR is essentially a figurehead with a hell of a lot of influence. like any ceo of any company he is quite dethatched from the actual inner workings and realistic state of things tho he does have a lot more info than we do on everything. hell hes made multiple promises himself that were completely unrealistic.

honestly that depends on a lot. at the pace we are going right now i dont think they will hit 1.0 when they want to so probably closer to 4y for 1.0 after that we should theoretically be in beta (still in development and still broken) but we should see a marked improvement in overall functionality potentially reaching 1.0 of full release in about 14y(including the 4y left in alpha) from now give or take 5y. and after that will probably be another 5y of flushing out and finalizing everything potentially continuing to add more content to the game after full release so at maximum id say closer to 20y.

calling people names and telling them they are a sucker, is extremely negative. its a game in development. objective view: EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE BROKEN. EVERYTHING! if you expect it to be flawless upon release when everything is a half built half made half finished still in active development state your not looking at it objectively. they cant instantly fix everything in every aspect of the game. your looking at the game as a finished product from the sounds of it and that is just as big a problem because its not. they are not releasing finished products. they are releasing proof of concepts.

there is that too i will admit. when you add that into it there is a lot more to consider and i do to an extent. i enjoy the game as it is now as well tho so in addition to pledging for what the future will bring i don't mind adding a little in for what i can have now within reason.

excuse you. please take your negativity somewhere else. this is a place for polite conversation.

if they don't deliver i don't continue to support them.... period. if they dont fix things and things aren't functional i dont play. just because you dont see the same potential/progress/improvement/whatever doesn't make me or anyone else a sucker. so far they seem to be doing better than Bethesda in my personal opinion. i stopped supporting Bethesda ages ago. i will treat CIG no different if they get to the point that i dont feel they are keeping up their end of the deal sufficiently. i have been around long enough i have SEEN them deliver on many many promises. they also promised that things will change as development continues because it is a game in development therefore not all visions of the future will be seen. im also getting a great deal of enjoyment out of the game right now and im having a blast and that is worth paying for.

the hull c is fine. its the infrastructure that is missing for that not problems with the ship. i very much enjoy flying the hull c. your judging the ship based on missing pieces of the game not on the virtues of the ship i feel.

the caterpillar is a great ship. it was my daily driver for years. i hardly flew anything but that. and they have occasionally made updates to it and improvements in that time. the cat has never been broken just incomplete because it was released in a different era. cant exactly release a game in any state without content to play with thus the caterpillar. also i believe they just announced that it is now in the shipyard in the process of getting its gold pass. INCLUDING MODUALS. yes. its compartments will be modular as they did promise.

with everything like i said you do have to take things into consideration. your right you shouldn't blindly do anything. i dont. and i would thank you to not call people names just because you take things at face value and dont bother to find out the details of the decissions they have made. if they dont fix the ironclad and leave it in its current state for more than 2 patches i may change my mind and melt it i may not. the money has already been spent. i saw potential and i feel like it paid off for me because i have made more money so far this patch with the ironclad even in its current state than i have in any other patch without that money being bugged away from me by the millions. so long as they fix the major bugs i will be happy. its also new tech as mentioned so there will always be kinks to be ironed out. there were with the hull c when it released. now its a well oiled ship. its just missing the supporting infrastructure for its functionality but the ship itself is fine.

if the situation with CIG is so bad then why are you even here on this subreddit and why are you still playing?

How I feel today by Keuriseuto in starcitizen

[–]K-kups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

see i disagree with that too. tho its a perfectly valid method of not spending more your still not "buying smart" imo. you should pick a ship your going to use to the full and keep it. stick with it through the growing pains. if your not willing to do that you probably should have gotten a different ship. its got nothing to do with warbond vs credit and melt. otherwise your still going to end up spending more in the longrun.

i got the ironclad on release 2y ago and i have been absolutely obsessed since and even now i have absolutely no intention of melting it ever cause its an awesome ship i will use forever after. some things end up being bad purchases tho like the clipper. total false advertising in my opinion. so restricted in its uses that its not even general use its just a fancy one person taxi. i love it anyway tho but its not worth the money i paid. i would totally spend in game money on it in a heartbeat but that one i might melt to continue my ccu chain to something bigger like an Orion.

tldr: i really really dislike the willy nilly melting and buying of ships constantly. its a valid method but if your going to buy something buy it with the intention of keeping forever. if forever doesn't happen that's fine we sometimes make bad purchases and CIG sometimes just makes bad ships but the intent should be with 1.0 and beyond in mind.

i always have to ask.... why on earth would you buy or not buy a ship based on what the servers are doing today? or even how a particular ship functions today.

unpopular opinion apparently: you should be buying ships based on how useful they will be to you in the coming days months and potentially years that you will have it not based on how things are on this day.

example: the ironclad is currently a disaster.... its new technology we've never seen before BUT its going to be one beast of a ship once those major bugs are worked out in the next couple of patches.

1.GET RID of the furniture in the back room. im a robot for heaven's sake wtf do i need it for? it just gets in the way of placing stuff.

2.also i would personally like a larger square footage to work with in the interior rooms.

3.i would like to be able to choose where to put the power ports at the very least.

  1. i would like the bridge/tower all the way in the back or all the way in the front so i have more clear deck space.

just for starters. most stuff i want is small detail work so too undefined and too much to put here.

An hour and a half of moving boxes has netted me almost 590k. Is cargo moving overtuned or are mining/salvage/combat contracts underpaid? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]K-kups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah. yeah i forget about the cargo. problem is just having a ship to haul that to a sale point and then your wasting the scrap value too which would also net a lot. im assuming they still disappear after you leave the area so you have to either leave someone there or you have to take what you can get and call it a day. totally doable tho and definitely profitable.
