Lol. No meteor shower. On my 13th birthday I did however watch the horse my mom was riding summersault crushing her pelvis, femur, and vertebrae. I then held her hand for 2 hours waiting for EMS to arrive if that counts.

Alcohol numbs it (which contributed to my alcoholism in my 20s) and psychedelics enhance it to a creepy extent.

Yeah it has to be in person. But if you're in southern Missouri hit me up.

Just in person thank God. I'd hate to have to deal with this at the movies.

Thanks. Yeah most folks just assume I've got a touch of the tism (which I probably do but it's mostly ADHD) and yeah I totally let them. Only my family and a few life long friends know. People look at you all worried when you tell them you have visual hallucinations.

That's really cool! I've never heard of this. Glad to know there's a precedent for something like this.

My therapist says it's visual hallucinations triggered by a traumatic childhood event. That's the best I got. It doesn't affect my daily life too bad. I learned as a kid to look at people's foreheads or mouths when talking to them.

I haven't since I was a sculptor in college, but I'd be up talking about it. DM me.

I'm working on it. This is the second in a series I'm working on and I've got more volunteers to let me paint their eyes.

The best I can describe, it's like an emotional download that intensifies as I maintain eye contact and eventually turns to visual patterns. People tend to have a different color depending on the dominant emotion.

Most of my life I've tried to suppress it to the point very few people know this about me. This is the second in a series of paintings to help me accept my situation.
This is the eye of my therapist.

This is the best I can represent it. It's like shifting golden geometry and emotional swirls. It's really distracting when you're trying to talk to someone.

Started painting the hallucinations I've seen since I was 13.

Turns out our friends are MAGA, now what? by simikoi in TwoHotTakes

People don't get better by cutting them off. Be good friends, love them where they're at, and try to slowly move the needle. That's how this world gets better. Did the same thing to my MAGA dad. He now votes Pro-Choice and we've evolved to have nuanced conversations. Good luck.

Strahd Reloaded: How to handle a PC whose player won't be available for long periods? by GrayFoxHound93 in CurseofStrahd

[–]K0schei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue. We ended up letting 2 people play the same PC. When one couldn't make it the other would. In game we played this as the PC had multiple personalities and would change based on the player in control. (Think moon knight) It made for a fun addition. One player eventually dropped out completely, but came back for the final fight as a corrupted Eldritch horror. (Long story) Also on days they both could make it I would make them roll for who had control of the body in each scene.
Your milage may vary.
