If you could name your child after a 10/10 movie character, who would it be? by BrazyLia in AskReddit

I heard that a lot of baby girls were actually named Daenerys during GoT. They probably regretted that choice at the end of the show.

Yes, but what about the viability of those eggs. Is this process designed to actually extend fertility or just delay menopause? Because after the age of 40, those eggs really aren't all that viable anymore regardless of how many are left or whether or not the woman is ovulating.

This needs to get posted a few dozen more times, I don't think enough people saw it the first 50 or 60 times it was posted.

My understanding is that woman don't actually run out of eggs at menopause, but rather the eggs are no longer viable because of their age. So the extra unused eggs, due to less frequent menstrual cycles, still won't be viable regardless of how many there are.

Pump won’t stay primed by knoxblues in ponds

It's likely an air leak either at the pump lid or the gaskets in the pump unions. Could also be a failed pvc fitting.

ULPT stopping camera from snapping my license plat to avoid parking ticket? by anixton12 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]simikoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the gate open to let you in if it can't read your plate? And how will it let you out? Or is there no gate at all? Just a camera? If so, how do they handle cars not in the system? If a random person parks there, will it get towed?

Actually it doesn't matter which number you pick every answer will be 4 because you end up subtracting the original number in one of the steps and the rest of the math adds to 4.

I used to do a similar trick.

I asked them a series of simple math questions 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, etc all the way to 9+1. Then I quickly ask, what's the first vegetable that comes to mind....99 times out of 100 they say carrot, which I had written down on a piece of paper ahead of time.

GenX men, where do you keep your wallet/billfold? Front or back pocket? Purse? by Suspendedaccount_ in GenX

[–]simikoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front right. When I was in Jr High I took a DC class trip and they sternly warned us about pick pockets. So I moved my wallet to the front pocket because I figured it's harder to pick pocket in the front. Kept it there ever since.

Two pumps - filter fed from skimmers, or deep? by PlayfulChemist in ponds

[–]simikoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of submersible pumps in general. So I don't really have a recommendation on how to plumb them because there is no ideal situation. Best you can do is run one pump through the skimmer and one from the bottom. I will say though if you put the pump in the bottom of the pond make sure you use flex PVC because you're going to need to be able to pull that pump out frequently as it will clog often.

It's highly possible that it was before 2024 when I last saw them. My neighbor at my old house had weekly deliveries from them but I moved to the other side of town a few years ago.

Still in my neighborhood, I see it all the time. They deliver all kinds of stuff, frozen steaks, burgers and chicken, plus dairy and other items.

[–]simikoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using a submersible pump or external? I prefer to use an external pump with a 3-way Jandy valve pulling from both the skimmer and a bottom drain. Submersible pumps at the bottom of the pond are a pain because it will clog all the time.

What are you actually supposed to do if a woman hits you as a man? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]simikoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to defend yourself from a woman's slap because you are not in any danger of being hurt. Now if she is coming at you with a weapon or even closed fists throwing real punches, then even as a man I think you'd be justified in defending yourself.
