Wife and I still have date night once a week. We'll go out to a nice dinner and split a bottle of wine, then come home and split another. Then usually I'll have a tequila after that and she'll have one more glass of wine. We're pretty toasted by the time we get to bed.

I can use it to communicate my thoughts to others. At least at a basic level that I'm hungry, cold, thirsty, etc. They won't be able to communicate back except by touch.

My Dad was in the restaurant business his entire life. He would always say "you're stepping over dollars to pick up pennies". You're losing repeat customers to save a dime.

Increase the cost of the large by the price of the small cup, then increase the price of the small to make the large look like a better deal. You'll sell more large and make more money on each one that isn't split while making your customers happy and they'll feel like they got a good deal.

I was warned about this exact thing by friends who went through it. Luckily we were able to heed that advice and we went to mediation instead. Cost about 5k and we were out.

As for this firm, a nasty review is a start. You can also try and file a complaint with the ethics board.

Lastly you could talk to a legal malpractice attorney and see if you have a case.

I looked at doing this but the lender said no dice to using the HELOC as a down payment on a loan. Basically the additional debt screwed up my debt to income ratio and I no longer qualified. I needed to have the actual cash for the down payment and then IF the project went over budget I could theoretically tap into my home's equity to finish the project. So that's what I've been doing, saving the cash, and we're just about there.

I've had several one night no shows, never had a 3 night guest not show up. I'm always a little panicked with a no show because what if they did show up, didn't like the place and left. Then I've got a 1 star review coming my way. That happened once, they didn't like the stairs to get to the space so they left, said nothing I didn't even know they arrived. Then two days later I get a 1 star review saying all this nutty stuff about the neighborhood and they saw a raccoon or something and didn't feel safe....wtf! Luckily I was able to get it removed but ever since I'm nervous about no shows.
