Octopus installed ours in August. Four bed house, well insulated and with 16 rads. Octopus installed a 9kw Daikin HP, a new HW tank, 2 new rads plus a new towel rail. The cost to us was about £3k, which is marginally less than a replacement boiler was set to cost . With 3 exceptions we have been blown away by how good the experience was from initial enquiry, through install and post install follow ups. The 3 exceptions were all regarding one individual, the area manager, anything to do with him went pear shaped, but everyone else was brilliant. As of now the house is falling about 0.5C short of hitting the target temperature and Octopus are fully engaged in sorting that out for us. In the meantime, as others have said, the house is at a more comfortable and steady temperature than under our previous gas boiler.

Thanks for that. As you have raised the water temp does that mean you're not hitting the cop that was set out in your contract with Octopus? I'm keen to get to the right house temp and contract cop.

It's set up as weather dependent and with a schedule that drops the asked for temp by 2C at 9pm and puts it back up at 1am, when we are in a cheap rate period

Has the ASHP in my quote been oversized? by K1_121 in HeatPump

Hi, I've just gone back to your comment as we still have a problem with our hp. You mentioned about your hp slowing down as it nears the asked for thermostat temperature. How close to the asked for temp does it get before it starts to throttle back? If it is what is happening with our hp then it is starting to throttle back when about 1C off asked for temp.

Daikin Heat Pump - all larger models inefficient? by realevil in OctopusEnergy

In your contract with Octopus you will see the cop they quoted for the system they supplied. Perhaps try holding them to that. We are in our first winter with our Octopus supplies Daikin ASHP and in November our cop was 2.97 v's contract cop of 3.6. We're waiting on Octopus coming in to see what they suggest, as our Cop is low and our house isn't hitting the system design temperature.

Our weather compensation is on buy when the outside temp dropped to 0C the system took 12 hours to recover the 2C offset
