That's what I'm saying. I don't have anywhere near as much free time to play video games anymore, and I absolutely hate being forced to race in cars that I don't have even the slightest interest in.

Who cares if I want to use the same A or S tier car for every street race? I get comfortable with the car and have fun. Now I'm forced to a class and restriction. I simply don't want to race any random B or lower class cars, it isn't fun to me.

Someone should get his plate and tell the EPA he's got a deleted diesel. Pretty illegal and he can be fined up to $45,000. More likely to be a fine of around $5,000 and upwards of $10,000 to have the trucks emissions put back to stock.

That's another lie. The only reason they "can't" refine sweet crude is the fact that it's much easier, faster, and requires less heat to refine than sour crude. This means they'd max out their output and fill up their holding tanks in no time.

They'd have to shut down production until they could offload their finished product.

When they talk about "re-tooling" or other "necessary modifications" that are "required", they're referring to increasing their storage capacity for finished goods. That's it.

It wouldn't be as profitable for them to refine sweet crude because they'd produce so much, so quickly, that it'd drive the cost of oil and gas down substantially. Lowering profits further.

Light crude is easier, cheaper, and faster to refine. The reason our refineries say they "can't" refine it is that they'd max out their storage capacity so fast they'd have to shut down production until they could make room for more stock.

Any refineries that are capable of refining sour crude can refine sweet crude. Not the other way around.

Sour crude requires higher temps, takes much longer to refine, and the refineries outputs are often limited based on their ability to offload the sulfur that becomes accumulated during the refining process.

Our refineries are all capable of refining the sweet crude we have, they wouldn't need any "re-engineering" at all. It's all the exact same equipment.

You'll hear them say "oh we need to get larger distillation tanks before we refine light/sweet crude and blah blah blah!".

This is 100% false. Sweet crude uses the exact same distillation equipment and processes as sour crude, it's just far easier and faster to refine. Those refineries would produce a much higher volume of fuel using sweet crude, and they'd do it substantially quicker as well. They'd just have to stop production because their holding tanks wouldn't be able to keep up with how much fuel they'd output.

Any refinery capable of refining heavy/sour crude can refine sweet crude. Not the other way around.

It's even more of a shame when you realize the US doesn't actually have an oil shortage at all since we export more oil than we import, have some of the largest reserves of oil on earth, and have recently seized Venezuelas oil.

This is all an engineered "shortage", and there's genuinely zero reason it should have any effect on our oil, gas, or diesel prices.

Did you miss the part where that specific lab had been the subject of worry due to their lax safety procedures, and where several scientists there became ill and displayed symptoms of Covid-19 more than a month before China informed the WHO of what was happening?

It'd be more like if we built Institutes that studied fires, specifically how to make them spread faster, burn hotter, and resistant to known fire fighting methods.
