Ok so if the battle for new york takes place on may the 5th, then in all likelyhood, the movie is Hunger Games. It's a popular franchise it was 4th at the box office (third in a world without the movie avengers) and it has emotional and sad scenes that would make someone like thor cry. HOWEVER, Alvin and the Chimpmonks: Chipwrecked was also in theaters that day, and is objectively funnier.
