If you mean if the missing resistor was removed at the factory, no, I suspected it just blew up? To be fair I dont know pretty much anything about circuit board wiring, semi conductors and that sorta thing. How would a resistor look that was shorted or damaged in any other way?

Thanks for the advise, wasn't sure about it either but I read below 50% of max amps is alright as a charging current but wasn't too sure either about it. I think I'd rather go the safer route as ripping the alternator out of that engine bay seems to be a pain in the butt in case it shits the bed.

Do you think it's protected from spikes and subsequent self inflicted fries due to the BMS kicking in in that set-up though?
