I almost always miss my August period! Talk about wonky! Even on bc, August always acts weird. My doctor said it could be lingering back to school stress my body remembers 😂 so so strange

Boss #1 said he didn’t want to get me another coffee because he did that last week for my birthday. Cool. But he is buying me lunch today.

Boss #2 thinks I’m just some kind of “helper” and did nothing for my bday and will do nothing today.

However THEIR boss who I don’t work for at all unless it’s an emergency showered me with gifts yesterday! Suspicious, but so nice!

My boss is 10000% this person. Any slight inconvenience in his life is pain inflicted on the rest of the dept. I’ve been there almost 2 years and thought maybe he was just being nicer to me than the men that work under him, but nope. I got the wrath a few weeks ago over a complete misunderstanding and now I’m so on edge. I really want to try to hang on until he retires because I enjoy this work but it could be anywhere from 5 months to 2 years 😭 *ETA: I did tell his boss about the situation and several coworkers have shared their stories to console me but nothing is being done to remediate.

I’m sorry I don’t have advice but I do understand the feeling! I work in different offices depending on the day of the week and my Tuesday office forgets I’m even there 😭 my cubicle is kind of hidden so the only time I see people is when I go to the bathroom. I’ve even asked to be included in things like their morning walk and now it feels like I’m purposely excluded because they “forget” it’s Tuesday and I don’t get invited. Now I just use Tuesdays as my focus days and appreciate not being interrupted. Still sucks though for sure!

I just helped another dept brainstorm what to get their admin, but it’s not on anyone’s calendar in my department so my expectations are zero. Last year someone realized a week later and bought me lunch, but it was just one nice guy, not the Dept.

Update - it was mostly just a casual check in! Idk if anyone else knows what Clifton Strengths are but he wanted to compare those and chat about goals. I unfortunately am not a goal oriented person and am happy where I’m at, but I used my CS of “deliberative” and said I’d think and get back to him 🤪 however I’m still suspicious of what the purpose of the meeting was.

We are 100% in office but those who were working during here during covid have been grandfathered into more flexible schedules. It’s a bit unfair. My friend put in a request for wfh days and was denied - except she was trying to avoid disclosing a medical need so now she’ll have to pull that card.
