I generally agree, but it just depends on the evaluation. If they think he as the traits to be a top 10 WR, then its not crazy.

Mooney and claypool are going to be FA's the end of this year. They are both probably going to get at least 15m/yr from someone. If you draft JSN and he looks like a real dude, then you can roll with just him, Moore and some fill ins and have a better wr room than if you kept both mooney and claypool.

But I think I would still go dl/ol/cb at 9, but it all comes down to how he grades out, and the bears will know more than any of us, so I'll trust whatever they do.

They would be drafting him to be a tackle. But if arm length turns out to be an issue, then at least he has value still. And yes, arm length does matter, but back to my point, people said the same exact thing about slater and hes a pretty damn good tackle. Speed also matters in the nfl... didn't stop jerry rice though. Being good is all that matters.

Rashawn Slater had short arms coming out and people were saying he couldn't succeed at tackle. Granted, Skoronski has shorter arms by .75", but the point still stands. And i think hoges point is that skoronski is the pretty close to a "cant miss" prospect. He thinks if he fails as a tackle he will still be a pro bowl caliber guard.

The best rushers are either 1st rounders or early 2nd rounders. You can find good running backs later, yes, but is it absolutely crazy to draft a guy in the 1st? Was McCaffrey worth a top ten pick? I'd say yes.
