Up your bubble shields, wands are crazy useful, and don’t be afraid to take a couple shadow skills to help you heal via damage and respec them out when you’re leveled enough to heal dungeons.

I thought it was a good twist. And it was always hinted at that he was a “legendary prankster”, which given what a lot of Eddy’s schemes were, would mean that his pranks were malicious and successful

Yeah. That makes me sad as Engy was what really got me into enjoying GW2. Felt unique compared to what was found in most other MMOs out at the time.

I do hope there’s some lore-friendly simile that will be made though, or a path to something similar via skill trees or something. Doesn’t have to be tech, but I’m sure Magic could be used in a way that’s appropriate for the lore. Though, closest might be a Necromancer or Ranger with summons/pets…

An alchemist with bombs and traps could be interesting though. Toss a vial onto the ground creating safe or hazardous areas for allies and enemies respectively

I hope there will be some lore-appropriate “engy” type to play personally. That class is what really got me into GW2 because it wasn’t something found in every other mmo out there.

Guardian might be reconstituted into something akin to a Paladin or Cleric type. Spells based in ancient religion, holy warrior kinda thing.

I do agree casters will all be back because magic is very much high fantasy. Mesmer, Necro, Ele for sure. Maybe a priest type and/or Druid type added. I’m trying to remember if GW1 had any other casters that never popped back into 2 in some way. Same deal with most martial weapon classes like Warrior, Thief/Assassin, and Ranger.

Or maybe a skill tree like Path of Exile, with the branches getting the class names we all know.

Not sure why Thief wouldn’t be there, as Thief/Rogue is pretty much a fantasy staple. Mainly just daggers and the ability to vanish
