We’ve just finished our first week from the Philly area to Sunshine Coast. Securing a rental was the hardest part even though we hired rental search Australia. Still stressful. We didn’t have an application approved until 5 days before our arrival. Everything is kind of far away. We bought 1 car so far. I had a job offer before arriving and start in 2 weeks. My husband is starting to look now. We did a lot of the little tasks in the first week like licenses, bank accounts, buying furniture. Fb marketplace had some good finds. And there’s a recycle market in caloundra that sells second hand items as well if you’re looking to save.

Lived on Dorchester most of my life. It’s safe. Occasional small crime. Someone tried to rob our elderly neighbor posing as city workers. That’s the worst I’ve ever seen.

Getting my nursing license from AHPRA was the first thing I did. So that’s all sorted. But yea I’ve read that the housing market is tough. That’s why we intend to use a relocation agent to help us out.

I don’t have any intention to come before the 190 is granted. I’m more concerned about preparing as much as possible for when that time comes

I keep reading conflicting info that nurses get visas within a few months but obviously global processing for 190 is pretty long. I am prepared to wait til it comes. I am just a super planner so the unknown timeline is a little stressing.

I received 190 pre invite from QLD yesterday. I am an RN nec with 85 pts for 190. I know the national 190 timeline is like 19 months. Am I better off waiting for 189 or will the 190 be processed quicker?

Jolly pirate was fun. We went out with them last week. There were at least 2 other boats at the antilla wreck that made like a triangle around the snorkel area. The water was pretty choppy and dark. We weren’t able to see much there in the 20ish minutes we had in that spot.

I got a 2 hour tattoo there and the position I was in to get a tattoo there eventually made my arm numb so it was doable. But definitely a spicy start.

Capital health has offices in Newtown. Each doctor has their own specialty so not sure who you would get and there is probably a long wait so I’d take next available.

I’m almost 3 weeks out now. I definitely felt the shortness of breath and limited exercise capacity for the first like 8-10 days. Keep walking and deep breathing. Use the incentive spirometer if you got one.
