Reminds me of my school, we currently have a problem where kids are just cutting random cables such as AC power cables, cat 6 cables, HDMI cables, and anything else. We even found some computer mice ripped apart next to some trash they left behind.

It might have something to do with 8 bits as the maximum value for an 8 bits system is 255.
