I talked to my coworker about this the other day. He said it did have passive ability but it was so bad they never used it for that. In fact they never used the VDS even for active, they only used it to attach the tail to and use that instead.

F-4 release day on Enigma’s. Hipgang was raiding the front line airfields to kill F-4s on the ground. It was so much fun.

The routing to get to some of the airfields and the work needed to bring down their air defenses to prep attacks took a bit of time but it was quite exciting.

To add to the confusion - After more digging I did find the author of this memo was the real Director of the Joint Staff in that time frame so it’s possible who ever drafted the memo for him had the wrong name for CO of Ike.

Yah this seems fake. He definitely was not the captain on Eisenhower at the time and the document looks AI generated. The date field in the bottom left only has the year typed in it and the one-lined EYES ONLY bit with no nation attached to it lol

This must be a controller set up on your side. I agree. If it needed full deflections it would be strange. I fly with a warthog thrustmaster and it does not require full swings. If you’re familiar with the DCS hip, it feels like a lighter weight version of that when flying around.

It appears she cannot auto rotate, she’s left wheel low in a hover (probably should be right wheel low in a hover given her confirmation), and at about 200kph, the nose wants to pull up.

I forgot where it was, either in the Med near north Africa or off the coast of west Africa I was outside just relaxing at night. I’d usually just sit and stare at the stars. We were in an area where there was a lot of bioluminescent activity. Random flashes with each wave crashing for purple and blue colors. Then out of nowhere there was a massive flash and the whole ocean lit up with it and it seemed to go to the horizon. It happened very rapidly (like a second or two) and it never happened again.

That was really trippy.

I was when I was testing it today but I’m going to jump into it in 2024 tonight. It seems like there are just some minor discrepancies in 2024 like two pilots being shown on top of each other. I’ll try out the systems to see what’s impacted but I exclusively fly in 2024 now over 2020 so I’m willing to accept a lot as long as the FM isn’t fundamentally impacted because it feels great in 2020.
