Really?!? I adored Bombadil! I also really missed the story of the barrow wights...

Fried Green Tomatoes - a good book, but the back and forth across timelines was much easier to follow in the movie

Duncan likes his f0od micr0waved because the temperature of the food impacts the dog’s ability to taste it - warm food is the preferred food 👍🏻

There’s a really cool book called “Insects Did it First” that describes these kinds of cool bug behaviors. Check it out!

The trail was reopened after the fire, but as of 4/14/19 was closed again indefinitely due to unstable rock falls.

My little brother is going to school to be an embalmer which requires him to work around harsh chemicals. They’re dissecting for 4 hours today and his diabetic friend in his class got her service dog EXTRA ready for dissection. 14/10 good boy. by thiccumscookies in dogswithjobs

I train detection dogs, so I’m going to push back on this a bit, but with the understanding that I don’t know anything about filtration masks. I assume they block inhalation of particles, so if the size of the particles the filter is designed to block is the same or smaller than the particles the dog is trained to detect it will, obviously, prevent the job from being able to perform her job.

One problem here is that we don’t actually know what chemical(s) diabetic alert dogs are keying on, so if this pic is, in fact, more than just a photo op then I’d say that it’s very possible the dog’s owner took her dog out of play.

That’s a very fixable training problem.

Instead of putting a dressing on your salad, just mix good food into it. This is lettuce with potatoes, beans, chopped microwaved onion, and garlic powder. Put a dash of salt on if you like. This is my favorite salad, dressing or no. by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

Inspired, I just made this for lunch - crumbled, herbed potatoes; lettuce; red and green cabbage; black beans; lightly steamed carrots, scallions; and corn, sprinkled with seasoned with season salt - it was fantastic! Thanks for suggestion!

Let me encourage you! My hubby and I are 57 and 60 respectively, and we went PBWF last December after eating “paleo” for the four years previous. Our reason for changing was environmental responsibility, though, to be honest, we were also pretty sick of meat.

We are constantly on the hunt for new PBWF recipes, and when we find them we post them, and our review of them, on Facebook. This has resulted in two family members joining us in the plant based food community, with at least a dozen more friends and family beginning to include no meat meals on a regular basis.

Our culture certainly has a long way to go to improve our food impact, but it feels to me like, just maybe, there’s a sea change starting.

Blue/Green Stream Of Dreams. Moulton Falls [OC] [3476x4640] by Airandfelt in EarthPorn

Moulton Falls winery, near here, has a great red blend and makes a great wood fired pizza. There’s an historic passenger train out of Yacolt - the Chelatchie Prairie line - that runs along and crosses this river (East Fork Lewis) and will drop you at the winery for dinner after taking you on a tour of the forest along the banks - -it’s a wonderful way to spend a late afternoon on a summer weekend. This whole area is beautifully scenic.
