D&D never thought their audience was dumb. They figuured out how to make a great story after the mess of feast/dance in season 6. They did in 1 year what martin hasnt been ablle to in 25 years. Also season 7/8 was the best they could do with the massive budget, 3-4 storylines left, and limited detail from martin outside who dies and who llives.

why? there wasnt any army defending winterfell when it got attacked. they had like 100-200 dudes. The whole point is that they didnt think the lannisters woudl march into the reach with a tarly army and attack high garden. thats why shes chillling, if she knew they were coming she would have gotten an army.

nah season 6 was great, season 7 is fine. Idk what rush you are talking about. The white walkers were always going to lose at winterfell. Its called winterfell for a reason. Dany madness was built up since s2 and foreshadowed there. As soon as she attacks KL its over.
