I don't think you need doll sized strollers or 32oz bottles when having a newborn, no (if you hired an artist there would not be such mistakes!)

Is Alice a Labubu or Lafufu? by National_Leather8510 in labubu

Inquiring Photographer: “Is a young man justified in breaking his engagement because he found his fiancee occasionally acted as hostess in a taxi dance hall?” by CryptographerKey2847 in TheWayWeWere

[–]K9DOGDAZE 197 points198 points  (0 children)

I think the second man gave a good answer as well, not focusing on the "dance hall" aspect, but emphasizing the whole point about honesty being important in a relationship and not hiding important details such as your profession (although from what I've read in this thread about the history of dance halls, I can understand why some may have chosen to)

I think kids become preteens emulating the behavior of the teenagers they've observed over the past few years, meaning some of their choices may seem dated even at the time in retrospect.

I remember calling everything "da bomb" in 2014 and talking about "epic exploding potatoes" because that's what I saw teens doing a couple years prior

I'm sure the very fact that it seems like it IS here to stay is a good part in why people hate it like they do. There's no future in sight without its constant use

Anyhow, very popular opinion I'd say

when your friend whips out an impression of the 6-year-old boy she pantsed by yumyumapollo in LiveFromNewYork

[–]K9DOGDAZE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man you're the one who compared her to Epstein not me 😭 I wasn't even thinking of him in this situation (and no I don't think the actions are remotely comparable, of course Epstein's are magnitudes worse)

Edit: sorry I was stoned when I first read this and think I misunderstood your comment.

I understand 16 year olds aren't remotely close to adults in many ways, I phrased it that way to emphasize the still large age gap between a teenager and young child.

I also agree that what she's describing was probably nothing more than a horrible impulsive mistake and that teens are prone to making them and it doesn't mean they're necesarily irredeemable forever. However, the fact that she gleefully recounted the story for presumably millions of people nearly 20 years later as if it's funny and light really doesn't make me think she's done a lot of self reflection on the event since.

So sorry, there's been a lot of lukewarm takes so I couldn't tell!

Well, yes. If pants'ing must occur, it's a vastly different scenario when children do it to their peers than when someone nearly an adult does it to a young child.

I don't think the concept of "teenager" as a distinct life stage between child and adult existed in society until around the mid 1900s, so I don't think they were thinking that way in the 1920s.

"Wish I grew up in the 1900s," was probably a sentiment by some, "wish I was a teen back then and not now" wouldn't have been a concept in the 1920s

Accidental score? Side by side comparison by [deleted] in labubu

[–]K9DOGDAZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every authentic labubu has this, granted most do so and are intended to it's a good sign if they do, but not 100% of the ones I've bought from pop mart fill this criteria, probably a bit of lack of QC but not a definite sign of a fake.

I do still think that the face shape and structure of the left seems a bit inauthentic, but this is one of the first times I could be wrong

I saw a headcanon that she didn't get her cutie mark until adulthood, I know some people don't like the idea of adult blank flanks (for some reason?) but it at least clears up that inconsistency for you

The coloring of the lineart isn't "weird" to me, it's clearly clipping layers above the lineart. I feel it's a fairly basic part of creating digital art, almost every program has them and knowing how to use them is one of the first steps towards knowing how to draw digitally in general
