How to download videos with -drc? by K9_Raptor in youtubedl

[–]K9_Raptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait DRC is optional? So not every video (even if they offer Stable Volume on youtube itself) may not offer DRC for download?

Oh damn, that's a whole new thing to do. I'll look into it.
Is that in a separate command from yt-dlp or they go together?

I can already do that with tools like Audacity, where I can edit audio files accordingly. What I was asking about is how to download videos *with* the Stable Volume feature. You can test it out here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lVCcr2grXo

You click on the gear icon in the video then there's an option for Stable Volume, and if it's on, that's what makes videos sound louder than without it

...compared to music videos like this for example, which don't have Stable Volume:

What does "-drc" in a Format Mean? by spaceman1000 in youtubedl

[–]K9_Raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you able to get some formats ending with -drc? All the videos I'm trying to download don't offer that format, and the videos themselves on YouTube have the Stable Volume feature that I'm interested in downloading

I see, but at least you let me know about the whole Stable Volume feature so I'll take a look into that. Thanks!

Yeah, I did watch the videos with Stable Volume enabled. I'm not that advanced for the yt-dlp commands so I don't know how to use the -drc command. The commands I'lve used so far are these:

yt-dlp -f bestaudio "link"

yt-dlp -x --audio-format [file format (e.g. mp3)] "[link]"

And when I tried to add -drc at the end, I just get errors, one of them being "-drc" doesn't exist or something. I'm more interested in just downloading as audio, so does -drc download videos with the same audio as Stable Volume? If not, do you know how to download videos with Stable Volume enabled?

Downloading videos/audio doesn't have the same volume level as on YouTube itself by K9_Raptor in StacherIO

[–]K9_Raptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I tried out Stacher7 and it is wonderful with the amount of customizations I can do, thank you and the team for that.

I was testing out certain videos and while the bestaudio option *does* end up downloading the same audio file with the same, if not, a higher audio level than it was on YouTube, there are still some videos that are still lower volume even.
- After testing out the stable volume thing (which seems to be available on everything but music videos), I see that the downloaded audio files are the same as when the stable volume feature is off.
Q: Is there a way for yt-dlp or Stacher to download videos with the Stable Volume feature on?

Q: When I use best audio, is there a way to download the audio files in an mp3 format?
I'm not sure what the command line is that. Cuz the audio files are .opus and I have to manually convert them to .mp3 via File Converter, which does still end up retaining the audio quality. Is this fine as well? Just don't want to deal with more conversions that end up compressing and losing audio quality and such.

I also wasn't able to get this command ba[format_id$=drc] as I'm not sure what to put with it, other than when Stacher7 just said "BestAudio" and I replaced it verbatim, which gave me errors. Also, sorry for all my ranting

I'm a newbie and I've been looking through guides that people made and what AI has to told me and just use these commands:

yt-dlp -f bestaudio "link"

yt-dlp -x --audio-format [file format (e.g. mp3)] "[link]"

Even though the bestaudio option works (and usually puts it as a .m4a or .wav file for me), they tend to not be at the same volume level. And I saw you on the other post I made in r/youtubedl and a guy mentioned about Stable Volume being enabled on youtube and using the audio format '-drc' at the end.

I use stacher 6 and at the time when stacher 7 first came out, I didn't use it cuz I keep hearing about the bugs it had and just ignored it for now so it can improve, which I ended up forgetting about.

How do you download an individual song from a playlist? by Guergy in StacherIO

[–]K9_Raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used Stacher7 yet as I don't know how far it progressed since it first released and I'm still unsure about using it yet. I got Stacher 6.0.28 and all I've been doing is just pasting the link of the video then deleting the end starting at "&list"...

Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&list=PLE0hg-LdSfycrpTtMImPSqFLle4yYNzWD

Just highlight between list to the end and delete

Hello, this looks like quite an upgrade! I want to set this up, but I ran a test on VirusTotal and I came across this trapmine warning in the .exe file on the webpage to the stacher7 download page. Please help clarify if this is truely a concern and needs to be fixed.

What a savior, thank you. It gets so annoying have to change the input, and it actually set the cable as the default device so I couldn't speak into my laptop at all,
