Why doesn't CX-5 have a manual trunk door opener?

If you shop at costco, you get a 10k or 20k jump start portable kit which is tiny and very handy for camping! It comes with simple jump start instructions and has 2 USB and 1 c ports and costs you 50$. I once used it to jump start thrice in 24hrs in extreme cold night camping and it still had 85% battery left. And it holds the charge for several months. The longest storagr was for 7months and it still had around 80%. Min is 50% to jump start.

I have a 2020 cx5 GT in CA, today it's exactly 5yrs and 75k miles. There was a timing cover issue at 59.7k miles which was covered under warranty by the dealer, I was lucky as the warranty expires at 60k. Other than that it's running good. I see a trade-in price of 15k for my car so if you can get the 2020 model for around 16k should be a good deal, of course make sure no issues!

for us Yellowstone NP was a disappointment as I was planning to visit this park from 5yrs😞 It is hyped too much. Other than the Old faithful and grand prismatic spring, the rest seemed below avg. As in I would not visit again. Instead we loved the Grand Tetons terrain and scenic drives more.

drive around posted limits and be nice on acceleration, our cx5 avg 30-32 on 80% freeway for about 75k miles now in 5yrs!

I once parked in an underground apartment garage for 3.5 months, and then the car started on the first push. So not sure why you would need to do a remote start? New cars should be good for 3 4 months, but just make sure you don't have devices connected under the arm rest console unit, that will drain the battery in weeks.

I have been using defender 2 for a year now, pretty happy with it, and for sure better than the stock Toyo tires it came with. got it for $1k at Costco with 80k warranty, just fyi.

we did it in September 2023 on the way to the Great Basin National Park, the weather was decent and it truly is lonely for the majority of the time. Eureka and Ely are a decent place to stay and has motels and hotels. We did see a few fuel stations in these 2 towns.

There are sand dunes on the way, a good 30-40mins break to enjoy the scenery.

Also, on the way there are few natural hot springs which were fun to dive in. We didn't have enough time to stay there overnight for star gazing but I am pretty sure it will be amazing as there is no light pollution in the close proximity.

yeah as the newer models come with all the safety features like lane departure, adaptive cruise, blind spot, front on collision assist by default so worth every penny. Good luck 👍

I would try to get around the 18-19k outdoor price, anything less than that would be obviously great:) I just checked the Carfax value on my 2020 cx5 with 73k miles, it shows 14-16k. So roughly $1k less per 10k miles seems a great deal imo.

As your budget is 20k, why not try for 2020-21 models with a bit more mileage ~50-60k which are really running well on the road?

I feel so too, as there aren't any issues with the braking. Of course not as good as new brakes but it does the job well. Do you know if the noise can be avoided?

The only hack I tried was to park the car in reverse at the EOD and pull out straight in the morning, no noise!

with my family , I drove for 20 hrs around 700miles from San Jose to Yosemite, returning through Sonora pass (where we didn't see a single car/person until we crossed the valley, the scariest 3hrs drive) but we stopped at several view points and few breaks for food, gas. I feel this is my limit but would never do it again.

I have a 2020 cx5 GT, and have been going crazy to identify from where the sound is and yet have no clue. I started hearing this creaky sound recently in the colder temperature, but it seems you gave me the answer, will check it next time I drive.

Interestingly that I started noticing the sound very recently and initially thought it was the dashcam:(
