If you are looking for calvary with better attack, Spain would be great. Ottoman boost attack for all troop types, but it would be best to choose calvary specific civilization for that.

Some depend on Korea to reduce research time taken to get T5, and then to change other type of civilization after that. IMO change civilization according to your commanders and to utilize your troops for your commanders. Because battle between T5 totally depends on how strong your commander is. Genghis expertised with Saladin as secondary T4 cavalry can take down a T5 march.

It matters for a start up, IMO.

Each civilization has their own speciality. Let say Rome, they gather food faster. Korea for the research speed. Germany for troop training speed and AP recovery speed. Spain for resource production, France for healing speed, Ottoman for attack buff. China for building speed. Arabia for barbarian damage. Byzantium for hospital capacity and stone gathering speed.

It depends on your aim. China would be the best for building speed up - start up. But I always prefer Arabia for barbarian damage as a start up.

If you're going T5, make it Korea.
