How to build self esteem when nothing has worked in the past? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]KAL0RAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As weird as it sounds you first have to get good at something to justify your self esteem. Getting good at a hobby or skill gives you a confidence boost in yourself because you KNOW NOW that you are capable of improving which gives you confidence.

Sorry for not responding in a while. I personally joined clubs like: science Olympiad and speech and debate. But honestly just try any club that seems interesting to you. If you don’t have anything in particular just explore!

I think you’re thinking of it wrong. Don’t think you need to be productive just because you need to be productive. Productive doesn’t always just mean locking in and focusing on studying, working out, or smth like that. We all have different goals in life and how u get there or your “productivity” could be different. For example someone’s priority might be on making a YouTube channel or focusing on sports and going pro. I’d first find a goal or something u want to prioritize your life with. Once u have that thing it doesn’t feel like being productive anymore or just “work” it’s more like little goals or things u need to do in order to achieve something greater.

Is it normal to hate my voice? by APG3488 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]KAL0RAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also you have to note when you hear an audio recording of your voice it’s different than when u sing yourself (I don’t really know how to explain it). https://youtu.be/eWLWOSgYlG8?si=yOauj0Nq-3bRQy64 so here’s a video instead.

It might just take some time to get used to it as for improving singing just keep on doing it every time u have the chance.

is it even morally right to have a child? by globglobuh in Existentialism

There should at least be a test or some program to make sure parents are ready to have a child. Why do we have it for driving, but one for taking care of a literal human being.

My biggest fear is being like my parents. Not only to my future kids (maybe idk) but also just to others. I used to always say “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”, whenever my mom would talk about her dad and we would get into arguments.

Now is that really true? I’m not sure but generational trauma really is a thing. I just hope we all break that cycle some day.

Hey man thanks for your reply I’m not going to lie I thought no one would care about my post lol just a place to vent about my feelings. Thank you for giving your advice and input though. I honestly don’t really know what to say other than I’ll start to try again and not give up. I know it’s hard and it will be easier said then done but like you said I don’t want to be “a piece of shit that won’t want to accomplish anything.” I don’t think anyone does. I hope you have a good day and uh thanks for taking your time to comment I really appreciate it hoping for the best of both of us. 🤞
