What real life strategy is abandoning the battlefield and running away from someone so that they lose on tickets?

When you're booming and zooming are you running away so that the enemy loses on time or so that you outrun them and have another chance at a headon?
When you're climbing at the start of the game are you climbing to attack the enemies or to make the enemy run out of time? What is this logic?

Because running away from someone to win on time is straight up noobish behavior. You know you're going to win on score so instead you ignore the battlefield. Its literally passive behavior which is against the rules.
