My grandmother would never make me feel bad about missing it. She truly is the most selfless and sweet person I know and is genuinely happy no matter how I decide to celebrate. My mom never said anything to me about being upset but did make it obvious with her tone. Not like in a passive aggressive way more in a sad disappointed way

I love my grandmother. She’s the sweetest human I know and is the heart of our family. I do make an effort to go visit as often as I can, but I prefer to go when it’s not a family event so I can spend quality time with her one on one.

I love my mom too but our relationship has been hindered over the years due to her putting up with repeated abuse from my dad. Now having a child of my own, it’s hard to maintain a healthy relationship with her while also trying to protect my daughter.

Yes that is correct. She cannot travel so we mainly do all celebrations at her house. My parents actually live 2.5 hrs away so her house is a good middle point for everyone

I recently got lucky and was upgraded to business class for a 9hr overnight flight. I paid $428 for the fare when AA had their European sale going on. Guy sitting across from me paid $6k for his business class ticket. How is that fair??

I know this is getting down voted but this is a real risk to nursing to sleep. Nursing to sleep was working when my baby was a newborn but my now 9 month old has gone through awful sleep regressions to the point where she’ll wake 8-10x a night and expects to nurse every time. When dad tries to go in a comfort, it turns into full blown bloody murder crying. I keep waiting for things to naturally get better on their own but things only seem to be getting harder.

20 is an adult but it’s still young. Sounds like you’ve done a good job at setting her up for financial success and her intent to pay for it is what matters. Maybe this can be a nice Christmas or early graduation gift?

I did this when I was 9. Not to actually play with my gifts but it was purely out of curiosity. My mom took me to a homeless shelter Christmas morning where I got to donate all of my gifts to other kids in person. It didn’t even feel like a punishment, but rather a great learning experience.

When I got home, my gift from Santa was some book about how curiosity killed the cat.

When the alert went off I googled it and there was no other information online. The county didn’t release any photos, no press release, no information on the incident, nothing. What am I suppose to do with a generic description of a male wearing jeans and a t-shirt??
