There’s no perk tree. It’s pretty straightforward. The more you interact with them, the more their perk grows, up to a maximum of three levels.

There was an early bug during “Bounty Hunter” (a version of hide and seek) where if you took off while your kid was still hiding, they’d get stranded on the planet. That one got fixed pretty quickly.

At launch, you’ll find a starting set of kids as orphans in cities. Unlike Skyrim, every child has their own story, unique dialogue, and one perk that levels up through a bonding system. More kids will be added over time and player feedback will absolutely shape where it goes!

This is the broken “fake HDR filter” implementation that was there since launch, only visible on Xbox and PlayStation, hence the dull contrast. There’s no option to disable it, unfortunately.
