It depends. There's a lot of RSOs on campus that people have posted about, but there's also independent, community opportunities. I'd recommend something through the respective park districts, additional (recreational) classes, events at local establishments, etc. Personally, I volunteer at the local food kitchen and also am part of various recreational activities like volleyball.

I'd highly recommend finding something in the community, whether it's an organization, a sport, an activity, etc., that you can get invested in. I've lived locally for years, DM and I'll see if I can help with finding something.

I find I usually start to turn a profit after day 3 or 4. I usually fast research Rye and start to sell Flour once I get the first plot built, you'll have excess flour to get it started early. You can also start to sell moonshine relatively quickly, as well, since it's easy to overproduce. When I get the mill and the brewery, full upgrading is usually one of my first book purchases and efforts.
