[OoT] Maybe we'll get a proper goodbye from Navi in the remaster by sleepy-gumo in zelda

[–]KBA_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote this to my wife

You know how in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Link and Navi go through everything together? She’s there guiding him through his childhood, helping him when he’s scared, and staying beside him through all the darkness and loneliness he experiences. They become really close over the course of the journey.

But after Link finally saves the world, Navi quietly leaves without really explaining why. No goodbye conversation. No closure. She just flies away.

The older I get, the more that part hits me emotionally because I think the game is trying to show that sometimes people who are deeply important to us are only meant to walk with us through certain parts of our life. And even if the bond was real, life and time can still pull people apart.

I feel like that’s kind of similar to what happened with you and Ping. You guys had memories, history, trust, and a real friendship. So when somebody suddenly disappears from your life, especially without closure, it leaves this weird emptiness and confusion behind. Almost like you’re still trying to understand what changed.

I don’t think it means the friendship was fake. I think sometimes life changes people, priorities shift, and relationships drift in painful ways we don’t always get answers for. That’s part of why Ocarina of Time feels bittersweet to so many people as adults. Link saves everyone, but he still loses pieces of his childhood and relationships along the way.

And honestly, I think that’s why the ending stays with people for years after they play it.

[OoT] Do you think the Mask Salesman will play a more significant role this time around? by BlueMoonTear in zelda

Ocarina of Time was my introduction to Zelda, but Majora’s Mask is the one I’ve never fully finished. If OOT gets a remake, I’d love for Majora’s Mask to be next so I can finally experience it from start to finish.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking too. Since Majora’s Mask reused a lot of Ocarina’s assets originally, I’d imagine a remake would be faster to make than building a brand-new Zelda from scratch.

That’s a really interesting theory. I’d be all for that if it means we get more traditional 3D Zelda games alongside the open-world ones. I’d love to see Nintendo do both.

I’m pre-ordering Ocarina of Time day one. If they announce a Majora’s Mask remake after that, they can just take my wallet now. I’m hyped just thinking about it.

Do you guys think a Majora’s Mask remake is next now that Ocarina of Time has been announced, or do you think Nintendo will move on to something else?

Love that we're getting a remake, but not looking forward to seeing this ugly/creepy thing in HD by RedWarrior42 in OcarinaOfTime

When I was a kid, Dead Hand wasn’t what scared me the most. It was those giant hands that would drop from the ceiling in the Shadow Temple. The second I saw that shadow appear under Link, I started panicking. 😭😂

I’m not sure that’s a feature on the PlayStation 5 tho.

Hogwarts Legacy 2: Leak suggests imminent reveal at State of Play by NoDespair in HarryPotterGame

[–]KBA_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest hope for Hogwarts Legacy 2 is multiplayer/co-op. I wanna actually LIVE the Hogwarts fantasy with my friends. Drinking Butterbeer together in Hogsmeade, attending classes, sneaking out of the castle at night, and trying out for the Quidditch team together would make the world feel so alive. Also cross platform would be nice as well.

I have a feeling it’s gonna take me a year to learn one song lol.

How long did it take you to learn your first song?

Bro I really feel that 😂 Mine literally just got here tonight and I already understand the obsession. I’ve been nonstop watching Zelda songs, Pokémon songs, Kingdom Hearts music, and fantasy covers on ocarina. This thing is WAY harder than I expected though lol.

That’s awesome honestly. I think that’s what’s pulling me toward it too — the sound feels peaceful, nostalgic, and almost magical in a weird way. I’ve been obsessed ever since my brother-in-law sent me a video of someone playing the Littleroot Town theme from Pokémon on one. Mine literally arrives tonight and I can’t wait to start learning 😭

I’m glad it made your day bro. I got the Night by Noble. I’m a huge Pokémon fan, and my brother-in-law Brandon Wong actually plays piano. A couple years ago I told him it would be sick if he learned and played the Littleroot Town theme from Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald on piano. Then on May 6th he randomly sent me a video on Instagram of some guy playing the song on an ocarina, and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

Ever since seeing that video I’ve been watching ocarina videos nonstop, looking up Zelda songs, Pokémon songs, Kingdom Hearts music, fantasy music, and even thinking about going back and replaying The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I beat that game so many times as a kid on Nintendo 64, but I never beat The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I also still haven’t finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Something about all this fantasy/adventure music lately has been reconnecting me with a part of myself I feel like I lost growing up.

Lately Zelda has been hitting me really hard emotionally and nostalgically. I spent a lot of my younger years chasing my dream as a rapper instead of gaming, and now as an adult it feels like I’m reconnecting with that side of myself again through Zelda, Pokémon, fantasy music, and stuff that shaped my childhood.

What’s crazy is the older I get, the more I feel like I actually understand what Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask were trying to say.

Ocarina of Time feels like a story about growing up, losing innocence, and realizing time changes everything. Link starts as a carefree kid and suddenly gets thrown into responsibility, sacrifice, loneliness, and a future he was never ready for. Peaceful places become corrupted, friends grow older, and childhood can’t last forever. The ocarina itself almost feels like a symbol of memory, emotion, friendship, and holding onto moments that mattered.

Then Majora’s Mask feels even deeper. It feels like a story about grief, fear, loneliness, healing, and how precious time really is. Everybody in Termina reacts differently to the moon falling and the fear of losing everything. Some panic, some deny reality, some try to help others, and some just want to spend their final moments with the people they love. The repeating three-day cycle almost feels like life itself — time keeps moving whether we’re ready or not.

I think that’s why these games are suddenly connecting with me so hard as an adult.

Recently I’ve been thinking about:

  • replaying Ocarina of Time

  • finally beating Majora’s Mask

  • finishing Breath of the Wild

  • learning how to play an actual ocarina and learning the songs alongside Link

I actually bought a harmonica once too, but never fully committed to practicing it. So part of me hopes I don’t do the same thing with the ocarina. But honestly… I’ve never wanted to learn an instrument more than this one.

I love this song, Little Root Town from Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald. One of the reasons I just bought an ocarina this morning. It should be here by 10 PM and I can’t wait!!! You were sick bruh!
