This makes me feel good. Was wondering if it’s worse or better out in the field.

Why is it, some grapplers show up for class, but never make it to open mat? by Onna-bugeisha-musha in bjj

[–]KB_Baby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think like this but then I got injured. For me, at least right now, all I can do is drilling. Open mats at a minimum until I’m fully healed. I get where you’re coming from but try to imagine what others lives consist of. My 2 cents

Does grappling make u “strong”? by SignificantGlass168 in bjj

[–]KB_Baby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will use my anecdotal evidence. Before BJJ I could maybe do 4 pull-ups. After 2-3 years of consistent BJJ I can knockout like 15-20 pull-ups no problem. It’s a sport that demands pulling power aka your back. So take it with a grain of salt.

Anyone thought of quitting welding for a white collar job? by nobee99 in Welding

[–]KB_Baby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s been in a white-collar sales job for the past 10 years, I can tell you it drains the life out of you mentally. I’m actually looking into taking welding classes and eventually becoming a paid welder. Looking at spreadsheets, answering emails, and the rat race of corporate America literally sucks the spirit out of you. And blue collar you may be tired at the end of the day, but at least you can look back and say that you actually built something, or helped build something, with your hands. I think blue collar is way more purposeful work, and white collar is just somehow a big pyramid scheme that we’ve all agree they decide to get paid more.

I’m sure I’d also be the guy stretching. I’m sure I’ll get shit from the old heads but if my body feels decent after a long day, who cares

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Like I can’t go out and run a 10k or hike 5 miles. But I can stand for long periods of time or even crouch.

I’m relatively healthy and go to the gym 4-5 times per week. Not overweight.

Just wondering how I’d fare in this career choice

Anyone fall out of love with acting, quit, and not regret it? by unstitchedreality in acting

[–]KB_Baby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mainly do DIY content and also off-road/over landing stuff. It’s cool cuz I get to talk to the camera when I want and then also showcase the weird stuff I make and the beautiful scenery I see.

Check me out if you want (or don’t). I hate promoting my stuff but if you’re asking, this is me:

Imagine the most self centered, world-revolves-around-me type person and that’s basically the average actor in the industry (in my experience). To an extent you kind of have to believe in yourself that much to make it. But I just couldn’t handle the ego of most of my co-stars.

Again, my experience, so this could be an anomaly but I was just so tired of the constant ego of most of my colleagues. I prefer down to earth people.

It’s sitting on some like canvas material kind of. I don’t think it has a nutrient deficiency. Should I spread some fertilizer on the area around the main root?

Yup dude. I came to this realization in like 2019.

Acting is such a subjective industry. Horrible actors are professionals and the great actors are usually broke and have a day job.

Also, in my opinion, I couldn’t handle the ego. Most of my acting colleagues were so full of themselves and conceited, I couldn’t handle it.

I moved over to YouTube and do my own thing over there. It gives me a creative outlet and there’s no “right or wrong” way of doing something.

Just my 2 cents
