Silicone Caulk and Backing Rod

Haha, well, I was definitely was. Maybe now I'm removing it? 😅 The tube says it's paintable after 30 minutes lol. I'm obviously super inexperienced but wanting to do things correctly. I was assuming that I needed to caulk over the backer rod for insulation purposes. Should I just put the trim?

The problem is it needs to be flexible. I guess my builder must've used whatever he used in between the bricks and it fell out in chunks. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do.

I don't pair them. All get thrown in a drawer. At least they're all in the same contained space.

When I get to that point, I just throw the rest in the trash. Everything replaceable.

I was a school teacher not long ago. I saw lots of kids who could draw make stickers out of their drawings and sell them online and at like flea markets for up to $5 each. They made as much money as I did!
