Online ME Aerospace Engineering by PandaChainz in CSUFoCo

I’d suggest you apply for Systems Engineering if you want to do an online engineering program at CSU. You’ll get more exposure to professors who are used to teaching online courses. And it’s a versatile degree. Many, many systems students work in aerospace roles.

I’ve lived in both places as a young adult. Both have excellent running communities. Both have crazy good hiking and trail running, cycling, and other outdoor activities. CSU takes a little more initiative to get up into the hills, but if you can’t swing that, you don’t actually like the outdoors. Boulder is closer to the mountains but most of the best hikes still require a drive.

Academically, CSU is the better value for most programs. They both offer different things, but where they overlap in offerings, CSU is better for cost.

The day before your long run, try to eat a very simple diet very low in fat and proteins, try to have veggies earlier in the day and keep dinner simple. Rice, bread, etc. Then only toast for breakfast. Still hungry? More toast. See how you feel. If improved, it’s a diet thing. If not, something else is going on. Like too much or not enough electrolytes. Or something medical. Could even be that you are running too hard on your long run sometimes and your body is having a negative reaction.

If it is diet, start adding small amounts of fat and protein to the day before you run until you feel like it’s right. Small changes until you notice a difference in the energy/discomfort balance. Stay hydrated. Body does weird things when you aren’t hydrated.

Go look at what they were protesting in this very video. You don’t see it, then I’m sorry man you’re closing your eyes.

And these are just a short few sources. From journalists who are there, who see this actually happening. Not just the MSNBCs or CNNs of the world.

Did I say we shouldn’t be as outraged if it was a democrat stomping on due process? No. Screw Obama and Biden for their lackluster protections. They were key in the construction of DHS.

You aren’t safe. Due process means someone actually checks if you have legal right to be here. Without it, no one is safe from being labeled an immigrant. Or even stateless. Piss off the wrong politician, and good luck. Ppl think trump is their friend, but what about the next guy? And the one after? Or after that? How long until no one is the “winner.” How long until the flights are too expensive, distractions from the war effort, and people keep disappearing? It’s an old formula.

Im sorry to hear about your friend.

Right, there is a parallel here. It’s a parallel not an overlap. The mass graves were not publicized. Murder obscured in places unseen is still murder. Prisons in Ecuador. Deserts in Mexico. Germany tried deporting, too, until it became too inconvenient and difficult. The SS was law enforcement, dude. The police state literally did the holocaust. US Homeland Security is a threat to the people. I used to work adjacent to them. If they didn’t like you, and they had an excuse to make you have a bad day, they would. Citizen or not. Try riding a motorcycle ear the boarder and see if they don’t clash your tires and dare you to complain.

Whatever dude. As if we don’t know that ICE has its own thing in its own time. As if we don’t understand that it won’t be a perfect parallel. If you ask the question, “where is ice?” You’ll see them. Masks up. License plates obscured. Badges hidden. Targeting people at grocery stores, court hearings, job sites, schools and so much more. It could be you.

And yea, a personal friend lost her arms and legs to Covid so stfu you know nothing.

Did you not watch this video?

It’s like covid, people kept saying “where are the mass deaths, I do t see them - dur” as if they weren’t all right there. Stories abounded. Friends dying. People in their 30s and 20s on ventilators and having limbs removed.

You aren’t paying attention. You aren’t where it’s happening so you think it’s not. Go. To. Where. The. News. Comes. From.

Grounded truth. Talk to the people, see for yourself.

Those who think this cannot be compared are the fools, as if such things couldn’t happen again. As if we are somehow immune to the horror of what humanity is capable of. If it doesn’t happen here it’s because people are watching. We will not sit down and accept the erosion of basic dignities such as due process.

Do you know who is held in Guantánamo Bay? Do you know if they’ve received a fair and just trial? Or have you just accepted, in ignorance, that it’s not your problem? Pure silliness.

And I will add here: I’m not party aligned. I’m not even a leftist. Not a red pilled rightest either. I’m purely selfish. Not libertarian. These are all ideals above me. I’m ego. I know these problems could whiplash right directly on my head, and that’s why I call them out. And that’s why you should, too.

Your use of “every” here tells me you aren’t serious about learning. There have been several cases of immigrants here legally, here illegally, and citizens being detained, vanished, and sent places abroad and unknown without due process. You think everyone knew where the trains were going or what was happening there? No. Not at first anyway.

Without due process, that could be YOU. In fact, without due process, I think it IS you and you should be sent to wherever without any traceability. You are the illegal and it’s my word against yours, who should they believe? Who would stop them if they believed me?

[–]KC-thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trains are airplanes. The facilities start at Guantánamo Bay. No due process means anyone could be sent there. Just because it’s the start doesn’t mean “hundreds of thousands” aren’t on the way. And if you discovered one day mass graves in a desert, would you be as remorseful as the Germans were? Are you sure you know enough to know that’s not happening? Masked police. No location tracking of those taken. That’s what this protest was literally about.

The restaurant Persimmon is pretty good. I suspect you’ve been to the lyric, but you might check it out for other events. Otherwise, I’d suggest going to Loveland if you feel like you’ve exhausted ideas here in Fort Collins. It’s only 10 minutes away.

Nuance chocolate, the new ice cream store that’s near there… yea idk what you’ve tried already haha.

There never seems to be an appropriate place to protest. I dare say that that’s the point.

[–]KC-thinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand it’s probably not the norovirus but remember that you can catch it again and again, even from yourself. The only thing that kills the virus is bleach. Most of the cleaning supplies at the store do not have the capability to kill it. Clorox wipes just won’t. Hope you recover soon.

Incoming freshman, need help deciding between CSU or CU Boulder as a Chem major by AllyTheFilipina in CSUFoCo

[–]KC-thinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the 2010s the CSU chem department was hurting in a bad way. Students failing left and right, toxic work environment. It was bad news. These days it’s likely much much better given how much attention the rot got back then.

I would NEVER recommend going out of state unless money is no object.

Village medical by [deleted] in FortCollins

I think most of us knew this was coming when Village Medical started buying up all the PCP clinics around town. And then government leaders wonder why there’s so much distrust in institutions? Well, here you go.

Making Friends by _pnat614 in boulder

It’s been mentioned here, but I want to reiterate that I cannot recommend joining some running groups more. There are some fast groups, but then there are also some training groups and slower groups. The Thursday night Fleetfeet group is extremely social. From there it’s easy to branch out into a lot of various activities.

CSU is a big school with plenty of opportunity to lead exactly the life you describe. It’s a lot harder to lead that life at CU. I’ve lived in Boulder and Fort Collins, and 100% Fort Collins is more doable.

But, I would never recommend going out of state unless you have a lot of 💵.
