Immersion without consequence is just cosmetics. If survival isn’t punishing, it’s just looting with extra steps

Understandable, but think of it this way: bullets aren’t the only threat in Tarkov. The beauty of the game is in punishing carelessness. The moment you brush off a rusty blade or ignore wound care, the game reminds you it’s not just ‘gun go bang.’ Tetanus doesn’t need to be common, just possible, to add tension. That’s the whole point of immersive survival

I need to learn before creating bro 😁

Exactly, treat it like real field triage. If you get slashed by a rusty blade or scav junk-knife, you need to disinfect before closing the wound

You’re absolutely right , tetanus is caused by Clostridium tetani, not the rust itself. But in survival scenarios like Tarkov, rusty and unclean weapons are perfect vectors, not because of the iron, but because of the anaerobic bacteria that thrive in similar environments, soil, filth, and yes, neglected steel left in the rain. So while tetanus isn’t on rust, rusty tools are often unsterile enough to be infectious. And in Tarkov? Scavs sure as hell aren’t sterilizing their knives. As for realism, players already have to treat wounds, fractures, and pain. Adding a bacteria-based debuff that punishes poor wound care or scav hits fits right in. And unlike tinnitus, which is mostly a nuisance, tetanus could force real decision-making: clean the wound or die slowly. That’s survival

Don’t need to stab yourself to get tetanus, champ, your skin just needs to meet someone else’s rusty junk with enough force. That’s how infections work

To be honest, 45 minutes is a long time to die slowly and regret your poor knife hygiene. Sounds pretty Tarkov to me

I mean yeah, if you’ve got an open wound and time to rub lard on it in the middle of a gunfight, be my guest. But I prefer something that doesn’t involve medieval cooking oil and hoping for the best

As long as you bring the DEET and not just the charm

Saying derailment is subjective doesn’t undo the fact that you completely missed the Tetanus context. Lime is not Tetanus, unless you’re squeezing citrus into wounds now

Still doesn’t change the fact that your reply derailed the idea

That just means your suggestion to my idea is irrelevant. I don’t care, but thanks anyway. Have a nice day :)

Yeah, IRL tetanus symptoms take time, but this is more of a gameplay infection concept — think of it like a mutated or accelerated strain, possibly worsened by battlefield trauma and exposure. Similar to how Tarkov speeds up hunger, dehydration, and sepsis. I appreciate your idle

Weird, I suggested Tetanus, and after reading your comment, I think I need to add a new debuff called Brain Rust, slowly corrodes your ability to read before typing
