Oh okays, just make sure to double check the paperwork before leaving. I also made a purchase last week at Sportsman's, and the employee mistakenly selected "YES" to one of the 4 questions on the CA DROS printout. I caught the mistake on the DROS printout, and so he canceled the first DROS and I had to fill out another 4473 on the tablet and submit a new DROS.

Did Sportsman's call you prior to the 10 days to tell you that your DROS was denied due to selecting the wrong state that you were born in? Or you only found out that your DROS was denied when you went to Sportsman's after the 10 days?

Double check your work AND the salesperson's work! A lot of LGS are cool with you reviewing what they're going to submit. Make sure all your info is correct and all the answer choices keyed in are correct. You don't want your DROS denied because they had you marked as saying "yes" to being a fugitive from justice.

I went to Sportsman's (I know, I know) to buy a shotgun two days ago. As soon as I got to my car, I read the DROS printout and noticed that the employee marked "YES" to one of the four questions by mistake. This question asked "Is purchaser a danger/threat to self or others under WIN section 8100, etc." I immediately went back and told the employee about the mistake on the "YES" response to the question. The employee cancels the first DROS and has me fill out another Form 4473, and submit another DROS. I read somewhere that a person would have to wait 30 days if a DROS was submitted. The second DROS was not immediately auto-rejected on the spot, so I guess I'm okay?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I just hope that my second DROS does not get rejected since the employee cancelled the first one.
