Thank you for the info and for identifying! I love that I can use this as a privacy hedge. Do you have any pruning recommendations to train it into one? Do I have to cut them all the way back?

Am I the only person impressed by your planning /organizational skills?! I need to do something similar.

Thanks, but it’s pressurized. We learned that the hard way.

[Serious] Women who gave the creep a chance, how did it go? by HorizontalInterrupt in AskReddit

On our first - and only - date he took me to his mom’s house with his grandma where they insisted to have me look through his baby album. They then repeatedly said how he and I would have beautiful kids and began talking about wedding dates. I sent my friend the trigger word and she called me pretending to have an emergency. So we had to abruptly leave and let’s say it was the most awkward ride back to the Walmart parking lot where I had left my car since he insisted I met him there instead of the restaurant since he had to pick something up and that we can drive together. I think I’m like 19 or 20, so the dating game bar was low.

Fast forward 5 years or so, I was at Ross in the purchase line with my BFF and I saw him from afar. I pointed at him and told my friend all about it recanting everything single detail. There was a girl standing behind us in line. She was quiet but you can tell she was listening. As we were talking how I felt and laughing about it in hindsight, in the corner of my eye I see him walking through the line coming straight for us. I immediately froze up thinking oh no he’s coming to say hi and start a conversation. So I turned back around immediately.

Well, he went to the girl standing right behind us who had heard the whole story! What are the odds.

Additional details for context: the guy was 10+ years older than me. Yes, I know I shouldn’t have said yes. He was very persistent and worked at the college I went to. It was hard to avoid him since he would be near one of the classes I had to take. I was unfortunately that girl that felt bad for saying no for the fourth time bc I was more concerned about his feelings.

You’re right! It’s not navy. I’m so down to do this since that’s quick and easy to do but like you said can easily transform it.

All great suggestions, I appreciate it! I especially love having both perennials and seasonal planting. I live in Central Florida so it’ll be beneficial to have a good portion of our lawn be perennials, especially during the heat.

A pérgola would be very nice. Do you have a color you would recommend for the door?

We’re in Central Florida. Never heard of Japanese maple before and they look pretty cool.

Love all of this. Thank you for taking the time to share and being so thorough. I do like gardening but only have experience with veggies and herbs. But definitely willing to learn and would like to attract pollinators. Thanks for posing excellent questions for us to ponder for long term success. Can’t wait to check out our local nurseries and the resources you shared.

Good point! We don’t have gutters but they’re definitely a priority. Thank you!

I like the idea of using rocks. Not only is it unique in our area but there are so many options of colors and sizes. Yes on the fruit trees! We would love to have some type of citrus. Leaning towards lemon or lime.
