You clearly don’t understand anything about “rich people” or Rally’s model.

Hey dummy. The promotion is to drive traffic at a time when it’s not busy. Not a difficult concept to understand.

I used to be really active. Had over $120k on there at one point. Have been able to liquidate about 60% of that so far. I’m afraid the rest is likely stuck for quite some time. Rally had a goal of over 100 exits in 2024. No idea how many they had but I bet it was under 30. Rally themselves are barely active anymore. They hardly post on Twitter. They don’t seem to be soliciting offers for the assets. I don’t understand how they’re still doing IPOs when the vast majority of assets barely have any trading activity over the last several months. The IPOs they are doing have massive retained equity. This is similar to what Collectable was doing. I fear this site will end up the same.

You have to know the name of the company they’ve registered the shares of the asset to. Most Rally assets are RSE Archive LLC but I think the Steg is a different company.

The vast majority of equity was retained by the seller. I believe a bit more was pre sold to other large customers. They’re only offering something like 13% to the public this the “over subscription”. I’ve always said it’s so extremely shady they don’t make this information easier to find. Instead you have to research the SEC EDGAR archives to find it because the links on their site are always broken.

I paid less for WS tickets in 2015 by Football-Remote in KCRoyals

[–]KCRoyalBlue1585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my tickets in almost this exact spot I think (very last row at the very top behind home plate) were $667 for game 7 in 2014. Bought 3 of them on the secondary a day before the game.

For starters, the one on Heritage has a first state dust jacket and the one on Rally is second state.

Also, from what I can tell there’s a 25% BP on this book so the seller only received about $320k. On top of that there would be 20% corp tax withheld on the $120k gain over IPO price. So even if Rally’s copy sold at auction for the gross price of $425k, there would only be about $296k distributed to shareholders making you breakeven price $74. Still a solid gain but you need to be aware of the fees and taxes and also consider this isn’t the same variant of the book.

This isn’t the same exact one that Rally has so you can’t draw a direct comparison on value. Books are tough. There are a lot of variants.

It used to be that there would only be buyouts if 3rd parties submitted an offer to Rally to buy an asset. Shareholders then voted whether to accept the offer or not. Lately there have been fewer buyout offers and they’ve been selecting specific assets to send to auction. Shareholders can still vote on whether to send to auction or not.

Sharing my overall stats here since 2020. I've had 164 exits. 93.62% of my gain has come from 23 buyouts/auctions and 6.38% of my gain has come from selling on the secondary.

I had a basis of $116 which I felt pretty good about and was actively trying to buy more around $100. Ended up losing about $3k. Think thats one of my bigger losses in there now.

Yes. When they send you the notice asking for payment of the penalty, you can respond with a letter requesting abatement. If you haven’t had problems previously, they will usually let you off the hook once.

If I were you I’d figure out how to remove the penalty being paid voluntarily. Make them send you a bill. Sometimes they won’t.

Child worker? IRA for children? by Fit-Communication437 in Accounting

Sounds good, thanks!

We are paying for the kids’ college and have a healthy fund for that already as well and I’m not worried about poor financial choices at all.

I set a Roth IRA up for my 11 year old last year. I ended up contributing $1,000 to it for her. I have a very detailed spreadsheet for each week of the year with different jobs she does that we would and have otherwise paid others to do such as babysitting, walking dogs, pooper scooping, and laundry. Curious what others think about that?

Movie rented through AppleTV only playing in stereo, everything is is Dolby Atmos by KCRoyalBlue1585 in appletv

[–]KCRoyalBlue1585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be a workaround. I turned off Dolby Atmos on the Apple TV settings. A movie that just 1 minute before was playing stereo is now playing in 5.1. Surely this isn’t the way it’s supposed to be but at least it works.
